aye right enough, the 2 French world cup winning squads downed tools at the first sign of trouble, as did Franck Sauzee, Boozy, Zitelli etc

    Fair.

We need two strikers minimum. And the most difficult position to fill.

I would be signing Ronan Hale as one of them right now.

We do. But can Rudi also make an impact next season?

Is that not the signing of Martin Boyle’s extension? It has 23rd April next to it

Then the implication another Australian is about to be signed

    Ah yeah so it is.

Did anyone sign Josh Mulligan yet? Good player , if we lost Miller he’d be a good option.

I don't understand why Vente can't be one of them - whatever issues he has, surely it's up to the management team to sort them out and get him playing well for Hibs.

Surely that's less risk and less cost than buying two new players?

If we've got a £2m asset then why can't we use him?

Think it would be a risk to keep Vente now.

One pretty poor season here and then a really good one back in Holland, his stock has now risen and we have potential to get more than double what we paid for him.

Last year of his contract too iirc and he’s already intimated that he wants to leave

Take the money and reinvest it

As well as an underwhelming season with us & going into last year of contract he’s publicly said he wants away. We have few saleable asssets so would be silly to take a risk on this one. and risk squad harmony with an unhappy player.

Having a look at forwards at both teams and it's slim pickings, there is a young boy at Bournemouth who scored for goals in there u21s and his been loaned out and got senior minutes Daniel Adu-Adjei but he's still only 19.

Lorient have a young boy who scored loads in Ligue 2;but it will be a big step up to Ligue 1, still think he may be out of our reach as a loan.

2010 world Cup French squad was a train wreck, all because of training bust ups and as a result guys downing tools.

Sauzee was in a league of his own. Boozy was a big game player, but useless in some smaller games. Often chickened out of tackles.

4 years prior and 8 and 12 years later they were in the world cup final.

Dylan Vente close to transfer to SC Heerenveen

SC Heerenveen and Hibernian FC are close to reaching an agreement over the transfer of Dylan Vente, according to Voetbal International on Wednesday morning. Negotiations between the two clubs are entering the final phase. Heerenveen hopes to finalize the deal this week, with Hibernian reportedly set to receive a transfer fee of around one million euros.

The 26-year-old striker is expected to sign a contract with Heerenveen for three or four seasons. Vente joined Hibernian in the summer of 2023 but failed to secure a regular starting spot. Last season, however, he had a much more successful spell on loan at PEC Zwolle, scoring 13 goals in the Eredivisie.

Signing .. Aussie .. Number 10? Boyles 10 , Triantis was 26 . Maybe hinting at signing a striker who can play as an attacking midfielder? Or just nothing in it .
Maybe Boyle has signed an extension to his one year triggered option?

Valued at 2 million on Transfermarket. Yes, it's not gospel but definitely feel we should be trying to get more than that.

The Australian flag + number 10 was an older post (referring to Boyle) that the guy quoted. The new post just has the Australian flag plus a signing emoji. Could be Triantis, could be someone else, could be nonsense.

I think it's a case of just getting an unhappy player, who clearly doesn't want to be here, out the door. We maybe could have played hard ball and held out for more. That, potentially could have led to teams backing out and us being stuck with him until next summer when he could move on a free. Then, were all on here berating the club for not cashing in when we had the chance. He was hopeless when he was here and, frankly, to get £1m for him I think was decent. We offered much, much less than that for Simon Murray who offers much more than Vente, for example, and Bowie, according to reports, cost less.
