    Annual Canon Hannan Memorial Mass

    Annual Canon Hannan Memorial Mass
Apologies if this has been posted before.
This Saturday 21st June is the 189th anniversary of Canon Hannan's birth.
There will be a memorial service in St Pat's church in the Cowgate starting at 12h30.
    All are welcome.
A good way to recognise the man's massive contribution in creating our club before the 150th year celebrations get under way.

Religion aside his work in the community should be more widely recognised in Edinburgh much like James Collins. Men of the people

Thanks for posting this. I was in St. Pat's on Sunday afternoon and picked up a copy of the parish newsletter but hadn't got round to reading it properly.

I will certainly be at the Mass on Saturday in Canon Hannan's memory.

For anyone interested, the church is open every day at present. There are several large display panels inside detailing the history of St. Patrick's and its ongoing connection with Hibčrnian.

This looks an excellent read and an essential addition to anyone’s Hibs library.

    Thanks for sharing the information.

Do you know what time the church is open I went down earlier in the year about 11 and it was shut. Is it open now to celebrate our 150th anniversary or does it just open longer in the summer.

According to St. Patrick's newsletter from last Sunday, the church is open from 8am to 7pm every day.
I entered on Sunday afternoon by the big double doors off the Cowgate. There's another doorway down South Grays Close, which was the old original entrance.
