We had to play a game and that was what was available.

I don't think you learn loads but you have to try and take something away from it. There's no point in just saying 'well that was a waste of time' and forgetting about it. If the only take away is a few young lads didn't look overwhelmed playing for the national side then so be it.

Tony Mowbray played Steven Fletcher wide when he was breaking through, but it was clear as day that he would be a centre forward once he was physically ready for that role.

Bowie is surely the same? He absolutely looks like central striker is his best position.
