Noah Botic supposedly has interest from Scotland.

23 year old striker who looks a bit of an all rounder

16 goals and 6 assists in 29 games this season.

    Wonder if it’s us.
Looked decent every time I seen him on the TV playing in the A league but then again I was a fan of Nisbet. You would think with the Black Night group having a presence in that league they woul know what players have the quality to make it over here.

Where are you seeing the Scottish club interest?

Newell isn’t a good option if he can’t get/stay fit. He’s 32 with recurring hip issues which we can’t get on top of.
I remember Gray saying Newells willingness to play through the pain barrier earlier in the season could have contributed to the lingering injury and he hopes after successful surgery it puts Newell in a good place for pre-season. I’m not saying Newell should be starting every week but I do think he has a part to play , think Gray thinks that too .

Quite a few folk seem certain Levitt will be away. Why is this? He was crucial for us second half of the season I thought. If anything, Gray will want to keep him and he may even be offered an extension?

Newell was absolutely central to the early part of that turnaround.

It could be argued that his impact was as big as anybody’s.
I am first to say I sometimes find Newell frustrating - hes far too good to go hiding (which he does do sometimes)

That said, more than a few of last seasons team attributed the start of the upturn to Newell making a rabble rouser speech about standards, when he cancelled the players Christmas doo. Fair play

    Livingston sign Cammy Kerr.

I'm not sure they are looking to good quality wise

Canadian player has been approached. Not sure if he is interested in the move but I’m told the player would be very popular with fans. Wouldn’t tell me who.

Did you mean that as a statement or should it have ended with a question mark?

I understand why Newell splits opinion. One hand he offers a lot off the field and is influencial as a core of the group. On the other he can blow hot and cold as a footballer. My opinion is what he is earning, plus the captaincy is something I feel we could do a lot better.

Bournemouth had a Canadian over to the UK and had him up at our training ground in January. He was in the last year of College. Possibly him?

Played 16 times in the Premier League last season, granted it totalled 105 minutes, but can't see him wanting to come to us. Would take him though!

IMO there’s no coincidence that his injury coincided with our unbeaten run. Captain and midfield set the tone and he doesn’t set a great tone.

Good guy and good motivator it seems but we aren’t paying for a Hibs tv commentator and motivational speaker.

Personally happy for him to stay but I wouldn’t shed a tear if he left.

Except his injury DIDNT coincide with our unbeaten run. Although some folk seem desperate to make it a fact.

He played the first 4, I think, of the 17. So fair to say he missed a fair chunk of it.

He went off injured during our 4thh league game unbeaten yeah. Played in the 3-3 with Aberdeen, and away wins at Motherwell, Aberdeen and Tynecastle. I’d say he was hugely involved in the turnaround in form.

I think we would have beaten St Johnstone, Killie and St Mirren twice if he'd been fit and playing.

Aye, but in response to the initial point, his injury did coincide with a large chunk of our unbeaten run in the league, he missed 13 of the 17 (Aberdeen 3-3 and Motherwell weren’t part of that unbeaten run).

Theo Bair maybe ? Even though I always thought he looked brutal. Also had a really poor season in France so doubt it.

Plenty people are trying to paint it that our form turned when Newell got injured. That simply isn’t the case.

Anyway, yet another transfer thread being turned into a debate about a current player so will leave it there.

Fair enough, I’m not sure what he’d have added in those games to turn draws in to wins though. I never really felt, from the turn of the year, that we missed him. I actually thought others really stepped up in his absence.
