Was at A Play, a Pie and a Pint in Oran Mor today which was a bit different. In Glasgow to see Bonnie Raitt tomorrow night.

I’m a big fan of A Play…been a few times to Glasgow. Need to catch it in Edinburgh

I do a bit of writing myself and I’m going to submit a play for it

Pitlochry theatre are doing a different take on it this year

A pint a bap and a boffin with lectures from scientists, a couple I fancy including forensics.

'Boffin' is the preserve of tabloid gutter press (https://pressgazette.co.uk/news/boffins-media/) and scientists generally dislike it.

If an alliterative title is essential then I'd serve pizza and call it 'a swally, a slice and and a scientist'.

I got the name wrong, it's A Beer a Bap and a Boffin.

I was on it the other day, and the tickets were £45-ish for the cheap seats. Left it a couple of days, and ..... bang... TM doing what they do.

I got tickets too. Should be a great night, not just a normal gig.

Isle of Wight Festival next week. Sting, Faithless, James, Paul Heaton, Amy MacDonald, Stereophonics, Justin Timberlake, Lottery Winners, Lathums, Allison Moyet, The Script, Texas, Twin Atlantic, Tom Meghan, Razorlight on the bill. Weather looks like it's going to be scorching.

Punk all dayer next week at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. Rezillos, Skids, Buzzcocks, Undertones, The Stranglers and headlined by the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter. Average age should be about 65, hope they have plenty of defibrillators available. And toilets.

Still really annoyed Frank Carter has given up the Rattlesnakes for this garbage. Not very forward looking when they were absolutely on top of their game.

He’s looks to be having an absolute ball.
I was pretty sniffy about this at first, the Pistols without Lydon aren’t really the Pistols . Stuff it though, one last pogo in front of a band I’ve loved ever since I was a teenager will do for me.

“Garbage” was needlessly harsh actually (sorry). I was really getting into the Rattlesnakes and they were going from strength to strength. Seen them at the Barrowlands a couple of years ago and they were exceptional. Im sure Frank is enjoying the opportunity but it’s nostalgia with no longevity and cost one of the UKs best contemporary heavier punk bands.

The gig at the 02 in glasgow last year was something else. Roll on Saturday, I cannot wait!!

Dubinski on Thursday night at MacArts in Gala , it's a Harris Trust/ S.P.a.R.Ks showcase event featuring three young local bands in support . It's a pay what you can afford for tickets.

What a brilliant day. The Undertones were superb. The Stranglers went through the motions maybe. Pistols were really good. Great to hear them play Silly Thing after Lydon being too sniffy to sing it. Downside was the extended No Fun as it took the pace and energy out. Frank Carter was visibly living the dream. Loved it.

Elbow at Hampton Court Palace last night. Part of the Hampton Court Festival series of events that they have. Really good setup they have there. You can take a picnic in and you can bring in your own wine.

Agree with most of that, thought Frank was superb and is a brilliant front man for them

    Undertones were excellent 😀

I can’t really add anything else to it other than the Pistols were absolutely unbelievable, 10/10!

    Undertones were brilliant

Met Steve Diggle at the hotel pre gig and he couldn’t have been sounder but didn’t think they were that good… I think seeing him on the big screens it was a bit obvious he’d maybe been enjoying himself before the gig on a bit more than the bevvy 😂❄️

Skids were very good and was buzzing to see them finish with my favourite Clash song

Just got in to see the end of the Rezillos, the Q was ridiculous getting in. An absolutely unreal day, now predictably on the couch gorging about 40 quids worth of fizzy juice and junk food to nurse myself back to health but it was absolutely worth it

A fantastic day. Was there in time to hear the Rezillos go through their soundcheck while we waited to get in, knew then that we were in for something a bit special. Their opening set was the perfect scene setter. I wasn't expecting much from the Skids , that was the fourth time I'd seen them in the past couple of years and last time I thought Jobson was going through the motions. He smashed it yesterday, superb. The Buzzcocks on the other hand were a mess, Diggle seems to have re-invented them as a heavy rock band, awful. The Undertones showed them how it should be done with The Stranglers showing they are still a live force.
Frank Carter and the Pistols were different class though. Hearing those familiar riffs blasted out as Frank did what Frank does was one of the best live experiences I have ever had. I was sceptical about him fronting them when I first heard about it. I was wrong. The four of them are a perfect blend.
Time to blast out NMTB, I'm still buzzing.
