Who will we get first game of the new season?

I hope this is correct as I was looking back on our first games of the season since we got promoted back to the premier and we have played ….

    2017/18 - Partick at home . 3-1 Win …Boyle , Whittaker, S. Murray .
    2018/19 - Motherwell at home . 3-0 Win … Mallan , Shaw , Boyle .
    2019/20 - St Mirren at home . 1-0 Win … Allan .
    2020/21 - Killie at home . 2-1 Win ... Boyle 2 .
    2021/22 - Motherwell away. 2-3 Win … Magennis , Doidge , Boyle .
2022/23 - St Johnstone away. 0-1 Win . Josh Campbell.
    2023/24 - St Mirren home 2-3 loss . Le Fondre , Doidge .
    2024/25 - St Mirren away 3-0 loss .
    2025/26 - ????? ….

Predicting we get Livi away first fixture.

I would expect Rangers to get Livvy first

I personally wouldn't mind getting Celtic out the way first game tbh

Not sure about who we get but am I correct in saying it will be on Sunday 03/08 due to us playing in the Euro qualifiers?

I can understand the reasoning in getting one of the OF out of the way but I can also see the benefits in getting a easier start and getting of to a flyer which boasts confidence, morale of the team too .

Wouldn't mind The Sticky Buns either home or away. First domestic league game will bear no relation to whatever pre-season games they have played under their new all-conquering hero of a manager. It would be as good a chance as any to give him, his team and their disgusting support a right good kick in the nuts.

St Johnstone away 2022 was a 1-1 draw no?

In terms of this coming season I’d be wanting hearts. For us it would just be a case of picking up where we left off where as for them and their transition they could very well be there for the taking. Nothing would do the team and support more favours than another away derby win.

We won last minute, it came off Rocky's hand and would've been disallowed with VAR.

Apologies as I actually doubted what you said about the hand and VAR would have disallowed it . Thankfully no VAR back then( 5:23 in ) …

He'd have been sent off with VAR in that game as well

Only one home game to start the season since 2021-22, think we're due a home game, watch it be St Mirren for the 3rd year running

Will this be the season the bigot brothers play each other on the opening day of the season?

    How is this done.

Totally random by computer, then announced

Or run past the OF to get their approval, then announced.

I’ll take that. The only games I want to avoid first game are Tynecastle, Paisley and Celtic home or away.

As for European group stage football, here’s hoping we have it back by the time the season kicks off :)

I could look it up - but where's the fun in that? - but did Nisbet no score in the 20/21 Killie match?

Aberdeen or Sevco at home, please. A total marker victory, hopefully. Genuinely can't remember us landing one since 1986 (although hopefully a better marker than that one was!).

Although, was the 5-0 scudding of United the first game of the season in 94/95? Scottish Cup holders at the time, if so, but still think win against AFC or RFC would throw it down.
