Anger, however - especially when translated into booing “one of their own”, who has been at the club for decades and won every single trophy it’s possible to win - I just cannot comprehend.

If someone like Trent can’t leave a club with the best wishes of their support, then no one can.

I think Liverpool now consider Real as one of their fiercest rivals these days. 2 champions league finals together since 2018 and a lot of bad blood especially after the stade de france debacle.
