Charles-Cook is inconsistent but on his day, is a good player. Wouldn’t imagine he’d be as frustrating as some others out there though 😂. Hopefully, if true, SDG gets the best out of him.

Not sure what lessons the recruitment team would’ve learnt? They scout far and wide, hundreds, if not thousands of players per season before pitching them to the gaffer & co, who will then do the final due diligence. There are a number of factors to consider when it comes to whether a player fits in the team - it doesn’t just sit with the recruitment team though.
Sorry when I say learn lessons I mean directly in comparison with players who were signed with no league experience, few competitive matches even.

    Melkerson
    Hague
    Tavares
    Mueller

    All epic fails at hibs

I think a few clubs , hertz rumoured to be one that were interested in him . Funny you mention 1 or 2 others there at that time as I’m trying to remember the other guy they had that looked quite good , think his name began with the letter H ? .

According to BBC we’re linked with Regan Charles-Cook. Can remember a stand out season with Ross County but if we achieve Euro group stages I’d be hoping for a higher calibre of player

The profit made on Melkerson makes him anything but an epic fail.

I think it's a good calibre of player to be fair. I wish we got him before he left County initially but I imagine he went where the money increase was.

Be interesting to see where Sam Dalby now ends up, can't see Wrexham keeping him on.

I imagine he won't want to stay in Scotland and will use this chance to get back down the road. But if it was possible I'd be offering him pre-contract terms to persuade him to stay up here with us.

A lot of our recruitment at the top of the pitch I imagine will depend on Dwight Gayle & Boyle and if they plan on extending deals etc!

Wouldn't be against our attacking options being Boyle, Bowie & Dalby going into next season however! Reckon we would need another though.

Yeah I think it will be a case of Youan and Vente sold which means as it stands all we really have is Bowie. Getting someone like Dalby signed up to replace someone like Myko/Gayle would be a good start to building up the front line. Add in a Charles-Cook and Boyle extension it begins to look a lot healthier in the options again.

If we went in with Bowie, Dalby, Boyle, Cook, I'd like to see Gayle stay for one more year as an older head/coachy type mentor.

Hardie from Plymouth would be a really good signing, unfortunately I think he's well out of our price range and will either be kept by Plymouth to try and fire them to promotion or sold to a decent championship team

I still find it hilarious Rangers sold him when they did, some of the guff they've spent money on over the years and they had a guy right under there nose who would have scored goals for them.

Even back in 2019 when he was leaving Livi I thought we should have been in for him but wasn't to be!

Would you not be slightly concerned about signing him as this is I think the first time he’s really been scoring goals ?

I think the type of striker he is, goals are more of a bonus to a certain extent. His overall powerful play occupies defenders and brings others into the game like a brewster/mixu type player

Playing for a side currently 10th in Belgian 2nd division and aged 28 doesn’t strike me as the type of signing we should be looking at

No more than any other player. He was 24 when he came here and sometimes guys need somewhere to click for them to get their career going.

Would normally agree but it wasn't long ago he was doing well over here in this league. Out of contract in the summer and knows the league, right side of 30, plays in an area of the park there will likely be changes needed withs ins and outs. It ticks a lot of boxes for me.

He played over 60 games in the Belgium top flight in his previous 2 seasons.

Seems like his team are struggling this year but why would that preclude us from signing him? Did you watch him for Ross County?

I watched Dundee Utd quite a bit this season and tbh there were a few games where Dalby looked very ordinary ,can’t argue with his record this season though . Maybe you’re right in he just needed somewhere to kickstart his career . Be interesting to see where he ends up and if he can maintain his current form too .

I get what you mean but, Jack Iredale signed from Bolton, Cadden's last club was Barnsley and Bowie albeit it at Fulham, was playing for Northampton every week.

I don't necessarily think its the clubs you should be looking at but the individual instead.

You would probably want them to be standing out in that league though. Only 6 goals and 1 assist for an attacking player isn't great.

Yeah I understand that, sometimes players just don't suit certain leagues/ways of playing.

Not sure If RCC would suit playing in a 3-4-1-2, but I'd love to be proven wrong and trust Mackay & Stewart etc to get it right.

Shankland was pish in Belgium then came back and scored 30 goals a season. Would take that every day of the week.

I completely forgot David Turnbull existed. He was the next big thing a few years ago.

Shankland was playing in the top league though. There is a huge drop off in quality when comparing the 1st and second vision in Belgium. Half the teams in the second aren't even professional.

So was Charles-Cook, he's played two full seasons in the top flight compared to Shankland's one (he was relegated that season) and their record each season isn't far off each other. It's only this season that he's been in the second tier after relegation last season.

Bobby Wales according to the sun will be joining Swansea City for a fee of €350,000 . That’s the club Myko is with, isn’t it ? .

I was waiting for this response

In that case hibs should just create an eBay account and buy and sell for more money making ways.

In all seriousness, from a football player side he was epic fail.
