Think it is the non-celebrity version that starts on the 23rd.

Fun fact. My now wife and I were going through the application process to be on season 3 when covid hit and it got postponed. We got invited back when it started up production again but didn't fancy doing it with potential covid protocols in place.

You can do a live Race Across the World experience in London which we've signed up to do in June.

I'm sticking with The City is Ours but I'm struggling with it a bit.

I just can't take the Jamie character seriously at all and given he is pushed as the main antagonist it makes it hard to get into. He's just too needy, snivelling and pitiful to be taken seriously.
PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

See above for similar thoughts on me on this one.

Quite annoying to say the least and just reeks of lazy writing….saves them actually having to put some thought into a more complex, nefarious schemer type character.

Nah let’s just use the book of stereotype baddie’s instead and we’ll take the very well used version which consists of as shallow a character as possible being displayed as a total self centred dumb ass…perfect!

To be fair the actor plays the part perfectly, just a shame they gave him such thin gruel to work with.

I think that’s one of the main points to of the drama, the weak son trying to live up to be like his father and failing miserably. He plays the part perfectly in my opinion.

Anyone watching Celebrity Big Brother? I know he needed to go for the combination of the homophobia, sexual comments and then trying to have a square go with Chris Hughes but it is't the same without Mickey Rourke. It was pretty much cringe every time he opened his mouth which made it compulsive viewing. Also found it interesting that his homophobia seemed to be only against lesbians. He seemed to be OK with gay men, albeit he did use the 'F' word usually associated as a slur against gay men but it was directed towards a gay woman.

I quite like Chris Hughes but it is a bit of a bizarre relationship he has with JoJo.

Just finished watching Playing Nice on STV player, it has James Norton in it. It’s about 2 babies swapped at birth. I really enjoyed it.

The Last of Us 2nd series opener was a good start - its interesting when you've played the games to see how they adapt it but I wonder how it feels to people who've never played them?

I've never played the games but loved series 1. Great story line and acting. Been eagerly awaiting season 2 but just back from holiday so will watch the first couple tonight.

I need to catch up from the 14th at some point, Mickey was the reason I was enjoying it and not back to work till Tuesday so will try and fit a couple of episodes in, I didn't think I'd like that JoJo but she actually seems like a cool down to earth girl.

Currently watching season 1 episode 18, nick on his final warning for trying to influence the others nominations and he has been hiding fags when the rest had none and going for sneaky puffs lol

Great first episode. Interesting to see where it goes with a 3rd season being made how much will they stick to the game like S1.

Wife loves it never played the game.

Watching Reunion on iplayer just now.

Difficult to summarise but it’s centred around a deaf dude coming out of prison and dealing with his mistakes and his past.

Absolutely brilliant acting, the daughter in particular, with the actors doing BSL through many of the scenes and a real punchy storyline.

Proper original stuff that’s highly recommended.

I enjoyed it too, even if the ending was pretty obvious from quite early on. I agree about the lassie that played the daughter, a fine performance.

Two of the contestants were on the news this morning. Two brothers who were a great laugh so they are automatically my favourites.

Looks a hard task ahead with little money and language an obvious barrier could be in for a long few weeks

Was impressed with how vast beautiful and diverse China is seeing their food culture and customs and how modern looking their major cities infrastructure and transport systems are almost as if they have been kept a hidden secret from the West

    Fascinating

Yes the brothers were a good laugh down to earth and willing to laugh at themselves as they struggled to come to terms with the daunting task that lay ahead

I didn't think I'd like the brothers to begin with (well, the one that's used to business class travel at least) but I actually really liked them both by the end.

I said right at the start, that I bet the divorced couple run into issue with locals thinking she can speak the language when she can't and that turned out to be the case. The two sisters should make the most of the Chinese legs of the race given that one of them can speak a bit of Mandarin and has lived in China previously. Not too sure on the mother from the mother and son. Will be interesting to see if the young couple are still a couple by the end of it

I've not done mainland China but have been to Hong Kong. The chicken feet brought back some fond memories. I actually quite liked eating them.

We can't wait for the Indian legs of the race. We're going to India later in the year and when we found out Race Across the World was going there we held off booking the stuff inbetween the flights in and out in case we got some inspiration.

Starting to have doubts about the young couple already unfortunately

It was a very good start to the new series and the teasers for the episodes to come looked exciting.

I normally can't stand reality tv or anything with members of the public but this is a brilliant programme.

I do think they try and get genuinely nice people on it but it's the locations they visit. They are bite the back of your hand stunning! That tiny wee place last night where the first check point was? WOW!!

I thought it was a bit unfair that one person can speak mandarin - should have made it that nobody can speak any of the languages of countries that they should be going through.

I'd probably just be drawing pictures of trains and pointing a map if I was asking for directions. And end up in Siberia

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned previously , I've been watching The Brokenwood mysteries . It's New Zealand's version of Midsummer Murders. There's never a normal death to be investigated by Shepherd and his team but they always seem to get there , there's also a fair bit of humour in the episodes , nothing to heavy and a different story every week

After a slow start I was hooked through the middle episodes

Felt it was elongated a bit towards the end and without spoiling wasn't sure on the ending myself. Perhaps that's a scouse method

Overall a decent watch. Loved some of the characters. Banksy in particular

Laura Aikman plays the ******** role so well whatever she is in

I enjoyed it for the most part, I think it was PB that summed up the Jamie character earlier in the thread down to a tee. Was quite impressed with Julie Graham's performance.

Stumbled across an episode of Para Handy the other night. Hadn’t heard of it before but quite enjoyed it. Back to a simpler time
