Very tight at the bottom of the Championship. Plenty of investable players with a grounding in Scottish football will be affected.

I actually hate this and it's happening all the time now. English teams looking for bargain scots youth players to boost their academies. I'm hoping we can combat this somehow but I'm not sure what the answer is.

It’s inevitable now since Brexit. He’ll probably end up getting released.

I noticed with James Wilson that he only signed a 2 year deal. He and their agent already planning a cut price exit.

I agree for the most part but when it involves saving
young players from learning Hertzball I consider it an act of kindness from the buying club.

Was reading up on Maolida, done reasonably well at a mid table Saudi club, wages under 5g a week surprisingly. Out of contract in June.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's what he's received, but I would be surprised if that's what he signed up for.

Makes sense to me. Get it done, protect the investment of sorts, doesn't mean we can't renew him longer or even sell him in the summer.

Think we’ll be selling him this summer and we’re making sure we get as much as we can.

I wouldn't believe any reported wages you read on the internet, especially in regards to players out in Saudi of all places.

That’s what I thought when I saw it was just the 1 year option that had been triggered rather than trying to extend that any.

I suspect you may be right. I'd like to think the conversations about his contract extension would have started with a "do you want to go beyond the one year?" and us activating it probably means he doesn't or we can't agree what it will take to do so.

Wonder if the clubs thinking of squad size by millers year extension.

If we get Europe our squad size and depth needs to improve big time

Think it’ll just be down to form as much as anything. The position change has really helped him.

Or it’s with an eye on selling him in the summer.

Not so sure about that, since Jensen came in there form has gotten a lot better
Not sure it would be down to him. Think he is pretty average to be honest

I would of preferred they negotiated a completely new contract. But good news on the face of it.

Or they are in discussions which now are not as immediate as they were before the contract extension was triggered

Wonder if that is still on cards, all just depends on our European situation

  25. #264
Miller will be available for the Europa league final then. Good news.

Why do we think Miller will be sold?

I’m thinking the opposite. If he wanted away why sign the extension?

    He had no choice.

He never signed an extension. We had an option on his contract.

Think the deal could be triggered by the club.

It was an option the club triggered, not a normal sit down and sign extension.

It’s not an extension, it’s a clause in his current contract that Hibs had the right to keep him for another year if they so chose
