    Bill Foley

BBC saying he is due in the UK this week for a visit to Bournemouth - wonder if he'll pay us a visit too to cast an eye on progress.....

Malky off to meet him apparently. Word is that Bill is impressed with our progress. SDG was also going down to take in a session but not sure if that can be true given the stage of season we’re at. I guess it’s a free weekend so maybe!

It’s not really very far to go down and do that and come back as a manager. Good to hear we are doing that sort of thing, can only help SDG and the club.

I would hope Bill Foley is impressed by our progress too .. not sure what age he is, but got to be pushing it to have seen us do such a run before 😉

There was talk, at the club AGM, of SDG having been invited down to Bournemouth, to exchange views and experience, so it’s probably right enough.

Well, hopefully has much he is going to do with us first … win the cup as player and manager some day would be nice for starters

who knows...if we keep playing the way we are playing Hibs might just become the apple of his eye

I'm hoping if we get guaranteed European league football they send us some really promising players, not quite ready for the EPL. If only for the time up to New Year.

SDG was hinting at some well deserved time off for the squad with the free weekend coming up. So don’t think this will impact our post-split prep.

I should think so too. Maybe he will also be reflecting on his unhelpful intervention earlier in the season.

Was it unhelpful though or did it get a clearer communication channel established? Genuine question, I'm not in a position to know the answer.

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley is scheduled to fly to England this week, with the club intending to open formal talks with boss Andoni Iraola over a new contract

Sources close to the club have indicated that, barring a last-minute change, American businessman Foley will arrive in time to attend Saturday's Premier League match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Foley will then stay in the UK to officially open Bournemouth's new state-of-the-art training facility.
But also on Foley's itinerary will be discussions with manager Iraola, whose existing deal expires at the end of next season.
The Spaniard, 42, has impressed since his appointment in June 2023, with the Cherries eighth in the Premier League and hoping to secure European qualification for the first time.
Iraola joined on a two-year deal before signing a 12-month extension in May last year.
Cherries sources have indicated there is confidence at the Vitality Stadium that Iraola is fully open to staying at the club despite interest from Tottenham.
Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure following a poor season in charge of the north London club.
Iraola is among the names of interest to Tottenham if they sever ties with Postecoglou, but Bournemouth are hopeful of persuading their head coach to commit his future to the club before next season.

I suppose we don’t know what all the issues he had were a part from it’s been said he wasn’t for MM or SDG appointments in he wants all the clubs playing the same way which might have been part of what irked him so much .. certainly picked his moment right enough and really haven’t heard a lot from him in the media about us since unless I’ve missed it of course .

Yup. He was very vocal, very publicly when things weren't going well. Now it's silence when we are flying.

He was asked the question by a reporter in the immediate aftermath of our defeat to Kelty Hearts. I don’t know if anyone else has asked him publicly about things for an update but we’ve heard plenty from BKFC, who have been very positive about things.

I don't doubt Hibs fans love and commitment to the club though. I do doubt his. The initial comments are smacked hugely of his ego being wounded that he wasn't listened to and enjoying giving it the "I told you so"

And I suspect all the Hibs fans who doubted SDG (myself included) have very much held up their hands and are delighted with how things have gone the last few months. Maybe he is as well but we don't know as he hasn't felt the need to comment, on what is literally a record equalling spell at the club.

Hopefully we'll hear from him this week but he hasn't done much to quell my concerns about the BK group.

What are your concerns? The BKFC are not the majority shareholder in our club so have limited control/say in our running. Would you be expecting anything from HSL as they are the 3rd biggest shareholder.

Concerns on them becoming majority owners. Happy if things stay as they are in the hope we can get the best of both worlds.

The ‘ They are not listening ‘ comment as much as we don’t know what all the issues Folly had , if part of it was MM and SDG appointments . The truth is we don’t know if the club didn’t listen but maybe they did and decided it was in the clubs best interests to appoint both which are now looking like the right choices . At that time of his comments it certainly felt like he was having his moment of glory in ‘ I told you so . Thankfully things have worked out anyhow .

The 49ers won't be having that and the SFA will bend the knee.

As long as he realises that Hibs will play the best way that suits our team and league and not just prepare youngsters for whatever suits Bournemouth.

The 49ers part of the consortium aren't after any more than 25% of RFC.

Sorry but what exactly are you crediting him with? He was widely quoted as not wanting Gray or MacKay. How's THAT working for him?
