Like you, I was in two minds after the first episode but I stuck with it and enjoyed the first season. The body count stretches credulity but the cast are really strong performers.
    Yellowstone?

Sheesh if you think season 1 stretches credulity then not sure how you describe the rest of it.

Sadly I had to sit through most of this as the Mrs wanted to watch it…in the end I had enough and asked her, politely, to watch the rest in her own time.

Clearly well loved by lots of folk but for me it went from just OK to pretty daft to downright painful!

Sounds like you just about made it to the end!

I definitely sense it's on the brink of ridiculousness (reminds me of a more violent Dallas in some ways!) but while the characters are generally hideous the likes of Costner and Kelly Reilly deliver strong performances. I gather the offshoot/prequel features Harrison Ford.

It seems like a 'trashier' version of Succession if that makes sense, the latter being overrated in my view.

There's been loads of discussions about Ghosts, including the US version.

They've now started showing a version in Germany and I have to say it's really good. A lot of the episodes are based on the UK episodes but they occasionally have completely original story-lines.

The actors they chose for the lead roles are also a good fit.

I’m looking forward to this one. Anything with Stephen Graham in it is bound to be excellent!

Reacher season 3 has been really good so far. This one is based on my favourite Reacher book and it hasn’t disappointed so far.
I'm watching it but it really is a guilty pleasure.

The acting is awful, if I said Reacher was wooden it would be an insult to wood's acting ability and I'm certain a 4x2 plank has more facial expressions - there are more plot holes than a very holey swiss cheese and the stratospheric level of exposition tells you who it's aimed at.

But, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode. Bonkers.

Adolescence on Netflix looks absolutely cracking based on the trailer. Again Stephen Graham, as the father of a 13 year old accused of murdering another teenager. Out tomorrow

Completely agree the guy can't act but when you compare it to the farce of the movies with teeny tiny Tom Cruise playing him then I'm just glad they've brought a more realistic version of Reacher to the screen.

It's easy watching just as the books as easy reading and highly enjoyable.

Just a shame the audiobooks are ruined by a dreadful narrator but that's for a different thread.

Anything like or as good as The Wire? I know just cause both are set in Baltimore doesn't mean they'll be anything alike.

Watched the first episode last night.

A very impressive achievement, especially filming it in real time. Although Im probably in the minority, i would prefer more traditional pacing, theres something affected about it.

Faultless acting from Graham, and the cop who i recognised from TopBoy also excellent.

Watched the first episode aswell last night and actually liked the pacing off it and how it was shot in real time, was almost like watching an episode of 24hrs in police custody, will be interesting to see how it pans out but top notch so far

New series of Ted Lasso announced.

Not sure where they can go with it. The third season finale certainly felt like the end.

So many rumours going around about this. JS said in a podcast, "We're writing it just now", "Ted is coaching a woman's team". "So is he staying in the states?" he is asked, and he replies "thats too many questions now". If the major plot twist is it being set in the US the writers have a lot of work to do, the whole thing about Lasso was the fish out of water thing and the supporting cast that is Richmond FC, if they remove that, there is a big hole to fill. It would be difficult to assemble all the actors from the other seasons.

I reckon if he stays in the USA then Rebecca buys a MLS franchise and various previous cast members will appear that way. I hope they don't spoil the series with bad season, like you said the end of the third season certainly felt like the end.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I read earlier it is to start in America then move back to England.

Not sure about this at all.

I thought the ending was really well done and have always believed it's best to leave it when people want more.

I loved Arrested Development as one example and just couldn't get into it when they brought it back. It wasn't the same. I'm in a minority but Still Game was the same; the reboot was like a caricature of itself in parts.

Wow. Just finished it. Fml...11/10, I can't remember anything I've watched before that's so raw. Absolutely brilliant, just pure raw acting that really makes you think if you were in the families shoes.

Yeah not a fan of this announcement. It ended perfectly unlike so many other shows.

I'm still trying to get my head round how they managed to shoot inside the school , then a running race and finally a drone shot in one take. It's remarkable from a technical angle as well as the acting. One more episode to go for me. Think I'll watch it again soon after.

The only time I was aware of them doing something to accommodate the camera was when they came back from the DIY store and the mum hung up her jacket before closing the door which was clearly to allow the camera man to come in the house :

Watched the first 3 episodes of A Thousand Blows. Enjoying it so far.

Only downside is the appearance of Gary Lewis. That's a guy who has led a charmed life as an actor. He just plays himself in everything. Miner in the North of England or ducker and diver in Victorian London? All the same to him. There must be other Scottish actors who deserve a shot in these big productions.

Any watched Rubicon before? A spy/government agency thriller from about 10 years ago. Only the one season, 13 episodes, but I think it’s because they came to a natural end rather than cancelled. Though I’ve still got 3 or 4 episodes to go. It’s quite good, takes a few episodes to find its feet.

First season and much of the second were good I thought, with the high calibre actors keeping you engaged. The extraordinary scenery is also a treat for the eye. But the plot and I would say the writing takes a real nosedive. It goes from being engaging to unwatchable almost at the flick of a switch. I gave up watching it towards the end and just read the spoilers to find out what happened. The conclusion was every bit as absurd as I expected. Shame as it started well.

There seem to be no end of spin-offs and prequels appearing off the back of it so plenty of viewers must have stuck with it.

Going against the grain here but just finished it, the final two episodes bored me stiff, particularly the final one, nearly switched it off and gave up.

I’m a bit the same, I can see where people are with the acting and camera work as it was very well made but as a story I thought it was pretty rubbish, I understand it’s an attempt at a new look to heighten a message about a rising problem but I too could easily have turned off and not went back to it into the 2nd last episode
