No foul play involved, apparently. Screams murder-suicide, sadly.

Surely murder would be classed as foul play?

Sounds like a gas leak or similar with the dog also dead beside them.

I see Michelle Trachtenberg has died, 39yo. Actress in Buffy and Gossip Girl. Had a liver transplant a few months ago and was jaundiced when found.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Fair. I read that as no external factors, but gas leak a reasonable suggestion tbh!

    Agreed.

    Possibly the most beautiful ever.

It’s on my 18 month old son’s “get to sleep you wee dick” bedtime playlist and has the effect of both calming him down and making me forgive him for his antics every single time and will no doubt be a highly emotional song for me for the rest of my days.
    Ewen MacColl famously hated it.

"MacColl made no secret of the fact that he disliked all of the cover versions of the song. His daughter-in-law wrote: "He hated all of them. He had a special section in his record collection for them, entitled 'The Chamber of Horrors'. He said that the Elvis version was like Romeo at the bottom of the Post Office Tower singing up to Juliet. The other versions, he thought, were travesties: bludgeoning, histrionic, and lacking in grace."

    What did he know?

Renato would smash it singing to Renee up there but he's a better singer than Elvis

Their two other dogs were still roaming the property though. The one which died was shut in a closet for some reason. The couple weren't beside each other either, they were found in separate parts of the house.

Horrible to hear that the bodies had been there for about 10 days before being discovered.

i was reading CNN breaking news

they're saying according to Gene Hackman's pacemaker data it shows he was likely dead for at least nine days before the bodies were found.

Said news. When the original Damned line up reformed, he didn't look well at all although the music was there. Lords of the New Church should have made it really big. Sound, look, attitude and message all in place.

LotNC didn't quite click with although I saw them live once and they were very good.

So Betsy Arakawa apparently died from hanta virus on February 11th, and Gene Hackman died 7 days later from heart failure/advanced alzheimers.

He was likely wandering around the house with no clue his wife was even dead for a week...

What a grim, and horribly sad outcome.

I was just reading that and and found it really sad that nobody visited, or even called, them in such a long time.

Most people have family, friends or neighbours that would get worried if they hadn't seen or heard from you for such a long time.

Yeah I was saying that to my Wife recently, what a way to go though, a guy with such a high profile literally wandering about aimlessly in his house probably not even aware that his Wife has passed, utterly tragic for both of them.

With regards your point its amazing how when life moves on others move on too and we become lesser important to our friends and loved ones. I say that through my own experience as me and my siblings were always close but as years moved on it seemed to go from feet to miles and ultimately the only place we would tend to meet was at a relatives funeral.

Our Daughters are no different to be honest, mostly only hear from them if they are after something, more often or not message my Wife as she is the family taxi driver.

Maybe there's a lesson to be learned for all of us.
