And Middlesbrough. Seems to have sparked a few discussions about others clubs' own anthems.

A Middelsbrough fan in there making out Leith is a ****hole might be one the most ironic things I've ever read.

My late mum was born and raised there and honestly the first time we arrived at the train station there I thought I'd arrived at the bowels of hell, terrified doesn't even come close for the young child I was.

Thought the same. Leith is class and Easter Road is arguably situated in one of the best locations of any football stadium in the UK. 10 mins on foot from the city centre in an amazing city, surrounded by masses of pubs and good restaurants.

I’m almost jealous that we don’t get to have an away day in leith.

I made enquiries about houses for sale in the area and the advice from a local estate agent was to be very careful about which areas I should consider moving to

You can pick up a street for very little in the area around the university. Had the dubious pleasure of renting a few. Never again.

Some good folk around but the area makes Gorgie look like Disneyland.

Without doubt. I said that to my laddie as we were leaving. Another unique thing about Sunday was the fact that the players all stood in a line facing the East as it was belted out. Magical.

Certainly the loudest I have ever heard it was like no one had left their seat and every man woman and child were belting it out with all of their might

The Jambo’s slipped away faster than snow off a dyke as three quarters of the Stadium belted it out

    AEK was emotional mind ?

Any reason why its always the East stand they go to and not the other home stands?

Suppose it’s historically the most vocal stand and the starting point for a lap of honour.

The West is empty by that point, everyone's gone back to the lounges for an appertif and a prawn sandwich.

Lol- to be honest though...most weeks the East is very empty by the end of games - even games we win, and the clear out starts on about 80 mins. Always think it's a bit of a pity there's so few in the ground for normal games when the players are trying to acknowledge the fans. (I do know the East is hard to get out off hence the early leavers).

It is a shame but can’t blame people, the east is a shocker to get out of if you’re up the back. Takes an eternity.

I think we would need to beat Barca or Real to even get close to that AEK atmosphere.

I was just on the phone to a potential client at my work who’s from the south of England, I mentioned I was from Edinburgh and he straight away asked if I watched the Hibs Hearts game at the weekend. I said I did and he said he had no skin in the game whatsoever, doesn’t normally watch Scottish football but he found himself getting caught up in the emotion of it and had a wee lump in his throat. Said he didn’t know where it came from and why he started feeling like that but is going to start taking more than a passing interest in us going forward because of it.

I’m not sure what was so different this weekend compared to last or previous renditions of it but it really seems to have captured the attention of the footballing world this time around. Really is magic.

    Mon the Hibs.

Was quite young at the Hands off Hibs rally but was it not sung that day ?

AEK will special atmosphere - I was at game but can’t remember when we sung it ? Must have been at the start ?

That’s another discussion - before or after games - of course many a time it’s after but we have sung it before at Hampden etc if the DJ plays it.

Villa Park was one of the best away day renditions.

Obviously 2016 tops it all - would give anything to go back then and sing it again.

As said above we don’t often get the players linked arms together like we did Sunday. Maybe this will carry on in future ?

Always after games. And only on certain occasions. A unique anthem that isn’t for playing any old time. I can never remember it being played at Hampden before a game. But I’m rarely in there more than half an hour before ko so maybe it has been played when the ground is pretty empty. Would seem a strange choice though.

We're right at the back and we always time it so we start heading down the stairs in the final minute of injury time. Sit down in an empty seat next to the exit for the final few seconds then straight out, easy.

    We stayed on Sunday though!

We played it before, at half time and after the infamous 0-1 v Hearts on the day we paraded the league cup in 2007. Lesson learned after that I think.
