    The Killers Game

Apparently it took three decades to make this and you wonder why they did

It’s almost like a video game film adaptation but without the decent video game that came before it

Some good set pieces and a funny pair of Scottish hitmen but the rest of it was pretty bad 2/5

    Bottoms

I liked this teenage lesbian twist on the American boys trying to get laid type flick. Interesting take on it with some great performances

There’s a not so subtle message throughout and the subplot involving a rival school felt a bit daft but I’ve seen worse 3/5

    Five Nights at Freddy’s

Watched this with no concept of the computer game. Got a brief guide to it as we watched it

Started good but then lost its way. There was a twist I called early on. I appreciate the computer game may have came before the Nicholas Cage film Wally World (I think that’s what it was called?) but Cages film was better

2/5 for the start and the trailer that did its job and made the film look good

    Dream Scenario

I wanted this to be so much better that it was

It’s got A24 written all over it in big, bold writing. Dull middle aged Nicholas Cage starts inexplicably turning up on people’s dreams.

It starts off good then goes A24 dark. I like a film that makes the audience think and come up with their own opinion of what happened

But this was a bit too much

Strong Cage performance and string start. Good idea too. Bet I dream of him

    3/5

    I saw it last night,

It was interesting and enjoyable enough and Chalamet is convincing as Dylan, but I'd have been happier with subtitles because my god does he mumble.

The film doesn't show Dylan in a very good light, in terms of his personal life.

Although it's based on his life, there's a fair amount of artists license taken but I'll let you see for yourself.

A decent watch, good music. 8/10
I saw it today, i think Chalamet did a great job, Ed Norton was perfect as Seeger too. I’ve read the Dylan and Woody Guthrie biographies and they did take a few liberties with historical accuracy but thats to be expected with a biopic.

Black Mass. Johnny Depp plays Boston gangster James Whitey Bulger. Apparently from 2015 but I didn’t even know this movie existed. It’s got a really good cast so no idea how I missed this but it’s bloody good!

    Dog Man 4/5

Really enjoyable cartoon. One of those ones that appeals to kids and there’s loads of stuff for adults too

Quite touching and loss, grief, loneliness and friendship. And a man with the head of a dog

I’ve seen far worse films than this

From the first Iron Man until the final Avengers film (plus a couple of subsequent Tom Holland Spiderman movies), I used to very much enjoy watching the Marvel movies with my youngest son. They've badly lost their way in recent years though and Captain America: Brave New World just doesn't cut it. It's significantly shorter than some of the three-hour plus films they were previously turning out, but it felt longer. Awful dialogue, woeful plot and just all round dull. Not even Harrison Ford can salvage it.

We enjoyed the series, up to the End Game/Spiderman No Way Home/Dr Strange multiverse of madness point, but lost all interest when you suddenly had to have watched several series covering about a dozen characters to be able to pick up with the next film in the series, and I’ve not watched anything new since then

Surprised this masterpiece has slipped under the radar

    Thanks for the recommendation

Yes, that's been our experience too. This latest film does attempt to strip things back to a more straightforward plot but it's pretty feeble. They've basically run out of good characters in my view.

The mini series thing started off quite well with Wandavision and we also enjoyed Hawkeye, but as you say much of it just overcomplicates things.

I was dragged by my wife to see Memoir of a Snail last night, 23.15 showing. I don’t know what I expects but it wasn’t that, it was fabulous. We were the only ones in the cinema, but more people need to see this film. 9/10 I absolutely loved it

Watched Flight Risk with Mark Walhberg. Thought it was quite entertaining and well done. It won’t threaten the Oscar’s but was a throwback to the likes of Con Air or The Rock.

Your description makes me much more likely to watch it than if you’d said it was a contender for the Oscars

Surely the fact Amy Schumer is in it should have been your first red flag 😀

Anyone seen Conclave yet? I see it surprised a few people by winning best film at the baftas last night. I really like the novel by the excellent Robert Harris.

    Very fair point.

It wasn’t my choice to watch it. I said yes to it after saying no chance to going to see Bridget Jones at the cinema.

Watched "You're Cordially Invited" on Prime the other night. Quite good as far as chick flicks go. Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. There was a line near the end from Will Ferrell that had me and my wife in stitches.
