Agree. Would also say if we find ourselves in the bottom 6 after tomorrow we could find it hard to get back in. A win tomorrow would be massive
So tight that I still think top six would be more than achievable even if we lost tomorrow. 6th to 10th is going to be changing every week. Just don’t think we’d put enough wins together to get third without a win tomorrow. Tomorrow a big chance and, if we win, I fancy us to finish strongly. Honestly think the game is so pivotal to what happens between now and the end of the season.

I have a horrible feeling our unbeaten run will come to an end tomorrow. Not because I don't think we're capable of maintaining it, but just because it feels like it's due to end.

I'm naturally cautious though so I sincerely hope I'm wrong. I would still probably take a draw mind you!
I have this feeling too which is in part because I feel like out recent away record at St Mirren is poor, however I’ve just checked and since our promotion it’s 7 wins, 2 defeats and 2 draws so actually a very good record in Paisley so my memory fails me :)

Yes but only if Hearts beat rangers and we loose by 5 goals.

A win tomorrow would be huge. Expecially with us playing celtic, Dundee united and hearts next

Need to be wary of their tactics early doors, long balls in between centre back and full backs for their big physical strikers to go after. They deliver some fantastic corners too

Be great to see Bowie from the off. Myko just isn't cutting it but given Gayle was rested completely last weekend I'd imagine he'll start up front

I'm not trying to be clever because I certainly am not 😅 would we not just drop to 6th?

Worked it out St Mirren and Hearts go above us 😅😅
    Obviously looking for a win.

I was surprised how tired quite a lot of the St Mirren players looked in the 2nd half , didn’t seem to have a lot of decent options to bring on either… maybe it’s something that could work in our favour as the game goes on if it’s tight.

  11. #130
We’ve had so many ‘must win’ games for various reasons already but you really feel this game is absolutely pivotal in terms of where we can end up.

Lose and we’ll be worried about top 6 and miles off 3rd. I don’t think a draw is much better if we want to keep climbing. Games like this need to be won.

  12. #131
The league is incredibly exciting outside the OF and there will be twists and turns in the battle for 3rd, the top 6, the bottom six and relegation slots, and almost everyone is in the mix for the lot.

Not seeing this as being a tough game.

St M have lost 5 of their last 6. No reason for them to trouble us when they’ve barely laid a glove on anyone for months.

Let’s have a real go at them from the off and knock in a few goals.

Got to get the three points to keep the pressure on Aberdeen and Dundee Utd.

It’ll be a hard game. I’m looking for us to win tomorrow but highly doubt we’ll make it easy.

Thought St Mirren were unlucky against hertz as they caused them all sorts of problems . Don’t expect it to be a good game but more a physical battle which hopefully we win 🤞

one thing i took from the match they had with Hearts, was the pitch was stinking. so hopefully that doesnt play huge part in the game. we're by far a better footballing side but the pitch prevents good football! if its a game of war and high/long balls i dont fancy us, a football match we win cosily

Same kind of pitch as Dingwall and Perth, 1-1 incoming.

Get Rocky into their box every opportunity just for his nuisance value with his frame he can block the keeper and Gogic and create space for others Josh Campbell has been very good in the air lately

Why do think it will be hard?

We read similar on here every time we play a team that’s on a crap run or bottom of the league!

These are the easiest sort of games we get in the season and we should be approaching them with a bit of swagger instead of thinking about how tough things might be!!

    2-0 Hibs

They’ve beat us twice this season. We’ve won 8 games out of 25. We rarely play a league game that is easy.

I agree we need to be winning this game but we very rarely make it easy do we? That’s just being realistic.

The draws away from home v bottom of the table 10 man saints and County who ventured forward about 3 times are fresh in the mind. I think St Mirren will have more of a go than either so hopefully that works in our favour

I know a few st Mirren fans who are season ticket holders and they all say they play better in first hslf and tend to fade in the second hslf
So key to winning this will be keeping it tight early doors and targeting Taylor at the back for them as he is a weak link
The two big strikers are pacey and physical so agsin we need to have a plan to cope with them as Hearts didn’t in the first hslf of the cup game

Form matters though which is why we were favourites against Aberdeen in a game we proceeded to win with relative ease a few weeks back despite being behind them.

The same reason we are favourites again today despite being away from home and only 3 points ahead of them.

Won 8 out of 25 is one way of looking at it but it’s more relevant to say we’ve won 7 from the last 11.

I have confidence in this team to get a win.

Of course won’t be easy like Ayr but this team just seems to have turned a corner.

The draws away to Ross County (crap pitch - 2nd goal and game is over) and St J were extremely annoying but hopefully we can do the job today as I also believe it’s going to be so tight to get into top 6 - but I’m hopeful we are thinking top 3 as a target but we need to win this to keep close to Aberdeen and playing Celtic then Dundee Utd and then Hearts it’s another crucial few games for the outcome of this season.

Whether it’s 8 from 25, 7 from 11 or whatever I think the point is that we rarely win games with ease as was been suggested we should. Even in the good run, Motherwell away is probably the only one that ticks that box. Aberdeen at home was pretty comfortable.

It’s the form over the 25 games that makes a win today so important though. It’s one of the best opportunities we have for 3 points and if we fail to win, I really don’t see us pushing for 3rd thereafter. On the flip side, win today, you’re two points of Aberdeen and momentum is still with you. Have to win.

Their forwards are a handful . Against hertz they missed chances that should have seen them 2 or 3 up and yet in their win against Aberdeen they were clinical in only having 3 shots which resulted in 3 goals . Olusanya looked a real threat with his pace in that game …

Totally agree about keeping it tight early doors . Hopefully they’ll tire again in the 2nd half especially after playing extra time which will benefit the likes of Boyle and the Cadden’s .

Anyone that has watched our away games since the turn of the year can't be expecting anything less than a tough game today. St Mirren have also had our number in recent games and our current run of form can be traced right back to starting after they completely dominated us at ER.

A win would be a fantastic result today.
