It's been poor for a while again. The constant losing for McIntyre and Bayley is crazy since they're two of the best characters they have in the company at the moment. Nia Jax beating Bayley AGAIN is utterly appalling booking.

I've tried AEW but it makes WCW 2000 look half decent.

One of the planned title match is Gunther-Logan Paul at mania for the title. If they have Logan Paul win a main title at mania. I’ll probably stop watching for a bit.

I’ve not watched anything since WWE switched to Netflix, is the Royal Rumble available just for general Netflix subscription, or do you have to pay more?

Will be available for any subscription I'm sure, I'm in the same boat, have still just been watching older stuff, will give the rumble a watch tomorrow or Monday.

Steph has said to expect some surprises, I seen a few weeks ago Hogan wants in 😂 would expect to see Joe Hendry, final four on paper would be Cena Punk Rollins Reigns.

Are they still running the bloodline story, can see Cena winning with Rollings screwing punk for runner up.

Just as well there is no VAR in WWE or this tag match would have taken a different turn.

Anyone else have two random bits of buffering? Nowhere near as bad as the Tyson vs Paul fight but I fear for Wrestlemania that Netflix can’t cope

First time I have watched WWE in years, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Definitely didn’t see that coming, from the last 8 or so men he wasn’t who I expected

Did feel the ‘random’ draw was boring, all the big names came very late

I've dipped in and out over the last few months and I didn't enjoy last night much at all.

I didn't get the need for YouTubers and part timers in the Rumble itself. Back in the 90s even through the very early 00s there was always a gimmick or 2. 'Here's Bob Backlund', 'Oh look it's Mankind, Dude Love and Cactus Jack' etc etc. It was almost needed then as the roster was pretty small with the talent drain to WCW and all the top guys working almost every Raw and latterly Smackdown. There just doesn't feel a need for it now with the roster the size it is.

The ladder match was dull. It felt safe and there was about one wow moment in the whole thing. I get times have changed and everyone is more aware of risk so you aren't going to get something like the Dudleyz, Hardys and Edge and Christian served up anymore. It was just like two guys guiding each other through a series of works whilst looking after each other though. Obviously every match is essentially that but the skill of kayfabe used to be that it didn't look like that to fans.

So much no selling as well. That seems to be a theme now as if it makes someone look invincible. When every other person does it then it loses any meaning. Topically based on my previous paragraph I recently watched the Smackdown when Foley morphed from Mankind to Cactus Jack just before the Rumble 20 odd years ago. It was a guy changing shirt but Triple H sold it spectacularly. He looked terrified like the fat, beat up 30 something in front of him had just become a monster. To then beat a guy he was haunted by built him into the best heel in the business for over a decade. Contrast that to something like an emotionless Cena giving it 'fine speech' for years and no selling the other guys promo and thus diminishing his supposed threat. So many seems to tend towards the latter now and it hurts the storytelling for me.

Very good points. I feel like every ladder match is the same now, essentially a series of ‘set pieces’, there’s rarely anything new about them.

Another criticism of the rumble matches is seeing new entrant after new entrant enter the ring and immediately attack someone who is on the verge of eliminating another wrestler. I get the powers that be want to have lots of folk in the ring, but ffs have some of them at least try to help eliminate that person almost out, the whole point is to be the last one standing, so getting others out as soon as possible should be the aim. The trope of ‘only one foot touched the ground’ is overplayed as well

Jey winning because fans like doing the ‘yeet’ is awful. That’s why he won.

Punk, Reigns, Drew, Rollins and Cena in it and they have Jey Uso win? What a waste.

Triple H clearly hates Drew McIntyre. He loses every feud, gets beat to roll ups and isn’t allowed a title run with fans in attendance.

Oh and Charlotte not being able to have a storyline that doesn’t involve emthe title shows how limited she is.

Give me a Becky Lynch return over this anytime.

I like Jey, so pretty happy for him. He’s came a long way.

I actually wonder if we’ll get Roman/Punk/Seth/Cody for the title.

If it wasn't for the fact they have always made such a big deal that you main event Wrestlemania, I wouldn't have put it past them to crap the bed like they did with Austin Theory and his Money in the Bank cash in and have Uso go for the IC or US title instead of one of the World titles (though to be fair, I can't remember if that when they had one or two world titles back then). As it is, I reckon they'll have him go against Gunther night one and whoever wins Elimination Chamber go against Rhodes the second night, unless there is a title change before then, of course.

The post exit spat with Seth, Roman and Punk could be the beginning of a setup of a three way between them at mania, brings a few different angles into play at the same time

Watched the event and was ok, woman's rumble just what was expected, the tag match was ok, didn't really want to see owens Vs Cody again and was nice to have a surprise winner for the mens rumble, did we really need speed? What was he doing just waiting in gorilla anyway.

Overall an ok show for me, nothing great.

Thought it was pretty meh to be honest, few decent spots in it but as a whole it was bang average

I don't mind the likes of Speed etc being involved, the sheer numbers people like him drive are astronomical so it's purely down to business

Since they have moved to Netflix it's kinda like everything has been reset to a certain degree and they are catering to people who maybe haven't been fans and keeping up before

I have seen alot of people praising WWE since HHH started calling the shots calling it the greatest era ever 😂 it's been the same for years, no compelling stories, 90% of the matches are the same.

Anyway CM Punk and Cena in the elimination chamber so far.

  25. #1524
Elimination Chamber tonight, John Cena's farewell tour continues and will try get round to watching it next week.

Zayn vs Owen’s was good has Owen’s been offered a new deal yet?

Think he's signed a new one. Got about 4 years or so.

I'd love to see him back with cole and the bucks, but also want to see him get that money.
