I’m going to watch Yellowstone and drink red wine tonight and not watch a single second of the Trump s***show.

Well, the good news is that we're about 20 seconds nearer to that utter prick leaving office than we were when I opened this thread and decided to post something.

I know it’s Martin Luther Kings Day, but to use his seminal “I have a dream” speech to big up that bafoon, that demagogue, is an insult to Dr King and all those who struggled for civil rights.

The thing is he can call it what he wants. The English Channel is La Manche to the French and the Persian gulf is the Arabian gulf to the Arabs.
This one is best ignored all round.

I’m not sure if I’ve got the terminology correct but I think he said he was going to annex Greenland. Is that not a bit like Putin’s attack on Ukraine.

And a bit like another bloke with a messiah complex annexing the Sudetenland less than a hundred years ago. That went well.

Is it just me or is some of the Trumpesque bending of the truth by his opponents just playing right into his hands? All over Twitter right now that Trump 'just admitted he rigged the election' with some carefully selected and edited video footage as proof.

It's utter bollocks, in the context of the whole speech what he actually said is clear. He's an idiot but not that thick. It all just looks a bit desperate and sad. There will be plenty to criticise him for in the years to come without just making stuff up. He'll just cry 'fake news' (which it is) and his supporters will lap it up as further proof of the plot against him.

They don't seem to mention it on their running news page?

On same page, headline "Hope grows for J6 pardons". As if that's a good thing? The BBC is really letting us all down.

Trumps wife released hers on Sunday, $MELANIA, WTF is going on here apart from fleecing the public? There maybe a coherent plan behind this but I don't get it and I'm astounded they're allowed to do it. I suppose they don't have anyone to answer to now.

Dunno. But it could be, maybe, a way of getting round political donation rules; the disclaimer on Trumps made the point, several times, that it had nothing to do with politics. Means foreigners can give him money too. It was suggested that that's what the gold watches / trainers and all the other tat was about.

Or maybe trying to promote the sector, like Queen Victoria getting on a train. His new techie bffs would probably like something back for their money.

Trump withdraws from Paris Climate Agreement, Again

alongside Iran, Libya and Yemen as the only countries in the world outside the 2015 pact.

he also plans to withdraw from the World Health Organization

just signed an executive order pardoning 1,500 Jan 6th insurrectionists, he's releasing criminals

It's funny how obviously repulsed Trump's wife is by him.

In the video of them dancing at the inauguration ball she visibly flinches when he leans in towards her and she looks about as comfortable as Ian Paisley in the Vatican.

    100% the same.

Although being called a hypocrite is something that Trump won’t care two figs over.

    Great news.

An executive order has been signed to rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America and to change Denali back to Mount McKinley.

'Getting so much done in the first 12 hours' says Musk. The obvious benefits of these two moves to your average rust belt American are obvious. Prosperity and streets paved with gold are surely only a few days away. It's good to see a President tackling the big issues of the day.

Day one looks like most of the 4 years previously. Lots of flashing of signature, very little effect on anyone in America.
Some immigration changes but until he funds the enforcement part it won’t change much. Every thing else was just nonsense.
For the average American, life hasn’t changed one bit.
Until he works out how to get things through Congress I guess Americans will just need to get used to these performative signature sessions again.

The camera caught him giving her a peck on the cheek at the Trumpiasco. He was about 2 inches from her face and I don’t think it was to avoid smudging her makeup. She clearly hates him but is hypocritical enough to know which side her bread is buttered on.

4 more years of that would do nicely, thank you very much.
