Not a classic - Usyk deserved it - but that scoring is mental

I thought Usyk won but 116-112 is too wide.

    Agreed.

It was closer. Never 4 points in it.

All three judges as well. Either fighter could stake a claim to having won that but that seems a bit off.

No chance of a third. Fury - Joshua and then Fury will chuck it.

While we’re saying 116-112 is wild, and I don’t disagree - Usyk is the champion. What did fury do to take those rounds from the champion?

Pretty much every round was close though. Not a chance any fighter was four rounds clear regardless of being champion or not.

Bit surprised as many on here thought it was close. I had it 9-3 Usyk, same as AI judge i think. Think it was a close enough fight but Usyk won most of the rounds clear enough to not be a controversy. Might have been overcorrecting for the Fury bias on commentary, will probably watch it again later without sound but honestly thought 8-4 was generous to Fury and 9-3 was more accurate

Tbf the commentary makes a massive difference. The recent Katie Taylor fight was unbelievably bad.

Reading the comments, I think the pro Usyk bias was clouding people's judgement. Usyk won, no doubt about it, but it was closer than the scorecards suggested.

It was a cautious fight, pretty technical until Fury started running out of steam. Why Fury felt the need to be so big? It slowed him down and handed Usyk the advantage over the last third of the fight.

Usyk is King, no one else comes close to a credible challenge. What a fighter, what a boxer. An all time great, albeit the quality of the opposition hasn't been as good as that faced by the likes of Ali in order to be considered GOAT.

Fury just doesn't land enough punches anymore, usyk wasn't landing huge punches but he was throwing punches that would score him points, fury had a 4st advantage but hardly used it all night, he should have been on top of usyk and tried to make it difficult, usyk had it quite easy for most of the fight, can't see fury being a world champion again and as it stands not sure what heavy weight is good enough to beat usyk, he is just a very good boxer

I honestly think Fury was spooked after the first fight and felt the need to do something ‘extreme’ hence why he came in so overweight. I think the only way to beat Usyk is to out-Usyk him which quite frankly is a big ask.

Dubios will back the strategy of going for lillegal low blows if Usyk fancies giving him another go. Personally I don’t think Usyk will continue. I read an interview a while back where he said that the level of eating he needs to do is getting him down somewhat, he’s far from naturally got an appetite to do it - as in the food consumption aspect.

I was following espn’s online round updates (didn’t watch the fight), their guy had Usyk by 3 rounds. He did make it clear that most rounds were pretty close

That's how I seen it. I had every round close enough. U Usyk winning the majority of them. Commentary on DAZN was very Fury bias. Bloody AJ had it a draw near the end.

Most unbiased analysts/boxers seem to have Usyk by quite a distance too

I just watched it today and thought it was close but the right man won.

I don't think scoring it by 4 rounds is that ridiculous. There were a lot of close rounds and it stands to reason the judges could shade 4 of them for Usyk. I'd say a 10 or 11 round scorecard would have been ridiculous. 4 rounds is probably the champ getting the benefit of the doubt in the closest rounds.
