I see that Animal Kingdom is starting on Dave on Friday night, well worth a watch.

Anybody else watching The Listeners on iPlayer? I've watched 3 of the 4 episodes and still not sure what to make of it, it's just odd.
Just watched the final episode, still none the wiser, the Scottish lassie really freaked me out though.

I think Sopranos is the best ever, it just spends so much time on simple things, you probably wouldn't get that now with Netflix wanting cliff hangers and constant action. Episodes like the pine barrens and college are as good as most Scorcese movies if you take them as an on your own piece.
I agree with your point re Netflix but Sopranos was on HBO. They're still pretty great at giving creatives free reign to do what they want. In recent years stuff like Succession and Industry are still pushing the boundaries and delivering some amazing stand alone episodes.

Apple TV also making some great stuff. But yeah Sopranos will always be the best IMO. The recent David Chase documentary on the making of it, was really good.

Yeah I know, my Wife watched it when it first was aired and I never took an interest until she mentioned it so thought I would give it a go.

Give the Israeli original a go after you watch it. Starts as a similar storyline to the first few episodes of the US adaptation but then does go in a slightly different route after that. Think its on Amazon Prime Video. Its called "Prisoners of War"

There's a few very decent German things on it, The Palace was good too, I think I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago.

Sopranos was incredible. I spent months watching it and it took a while to recover.
I did feel a bit sullied to be honest rooting for a bunch of crooks and killers but hey thats showbiz!
That's exactly how I felt. I couldn't listen to "Don't stop believin'" for a long time.

"A man on the inside" on Netflix is a bit throwaway, but great fun. There are similarities to Only Murders in the Building, imho, in terms of style, although the plot is very different.

30 minute episodes so it's as binge-worthy as can be.

    I recommend it.

Not sure if it should count as a guilty pleasure or not but, good to see Outlander back again.

Have enjoyed the first couple of seasons but thought it went downhill massively when they went to America, hopefully picks back up now they are back in Scotland

Never made it to the end of Sopranos. I hate that song as well!

Currently not getting to the end of West Wing.

Last series I finished was a six part mini one 😞

He was also the creator of possibly my favourite tv show ever, certainly from that era, Northern Exposure.

The Sopranos couldn’t lace The Wire’s boots! Joking aside, The Sopranos is good but The Wire is the best ever for me.

I'm about halfway through about my 5th rewatch of the Wire right now, still holds up really well

Midnight Mass actually thought it was quite good. Easy to watch. Could see things coming a mile off though

The other way around for me.

Helped by the fact that I didn't need the subtitles to watch The Sopranos.

With Dexter Original Sin being released mid December have been watching Dexter for 2nd time. It's brilliant as is Michael C Hall, also some great humour in it which seemed to miss first time round.

Up there with the best TV for me.
