So to summarise, we might be better of with relegation from League A? Win our B league then go in to a play off?

I have a nagging suspicion that UEFA decide whether to use rankings or Nations League placements for World Cup seeding entirely by whether sufficient numbers of "big" teams are in League A or not.

Czech Republic, Ukraine, England, Greece, Haaland (Norway), Sweden in League B or below? Scotland, Hungary, Bosnia in League A? Yeah let's do world rankings this year.

Pretty sure League A teams get put into some of the lower playoffs if enough teams qualify automatically, so we'd still be virtually guaranteed one.

We're extremely unfortunate to end up Pot 3 looking at those list of teams. Groups of 4 and 2nd place only gets a playoff.
I can’t quite understand how we’ve ended up there to be honest. How does participating in Euro 2024 (albeit poorly) and being in nations league pot A (coming 3rd with the most points out of any 3rd placed team) end up with us being in a pot with the likes of Montenegro, Finland and Iceland whilst teams that didn’t make it to the euros and participated in lower levels of the Nations league than us slot in to pot 2? 🤷🏻*♂️

I’d certainly say that we are the pot 3 team that everybody will want to avoid and there are still favourable draws to be had with a bit of luck but it’s a big blow unfortunately. The fact that we were 1 Portugal goal away from pot A is pretty frustrating.

Best draw available from a rankings perspective. All were comfortably ranked above us but Greece the closest to us in 42nd

Should be an interesting challenge to see where Scotland are at against a team we've not played much. Greece were good in beating England at Wembley - something we've not done for a long time.

Also not that much pressure on it. Personally I'm not fussed about staying in Group A of the Nations League.

What does this mean? I just read the BBC story and apart from possibly being vaguely beneficial to the next Euros qualification draw it doesn't make clear why it matters. I'd wager the majority of fans who go to this game would struggle to explain its relevance.

How it works in to the qualification path for the World Cup becomes a bit on the complicated but the Nations League has been a massive improvement on meaningless friendlies. Hampden was sold out for all three group games and will be sold out for the Greece game.

This tie decides whether we stay in the top section or are relegated to the second section. If we’d finished second in our section we’d have been top seeds for the World Cup draw so the games come with a lot of importance.

Queens Park v Falkirk is a good watch. Both teams wouldn’t be out of place in the Premiership and Falkirk in particular are decent. They pass it around quickly, press high up the pitch and are very comfortable on the ball. McGlynn has got them playing with confidence and I wouldn’t fancy us drawing them in the cup.

Very one sided game, Falkirk have totally dominated from the off, should be about 5 up at ht.

I think Queens Park have looked poor. Even we took five off them so they must be poor!

Their goalie looks useful though (I know he’s had to be!)

Seen him play England in the Victory Shield at Starks Park.

He was the best player on the park, surprised at the low level he’s played at.

Just goes to show how difficult it is to properly make.

Glad to see he’s showing up well at Falkirk and hopefully he makes an impact in the Prem next season.

Falkirk remind me of us in the Championship under Stubbs. Lovely football but not scoring as many goals as their overall play deserves.

McGlynn and Smudger have done an incredible job there.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle's match against Queen of the South has been called off after the Highland club made the 245-mile trip south to Dumfries.
The League 1 game has been postponed following a pitch inspection.
The Inverness team travelled down for the match on Friday.
Queen of the South said: "The pitch was playable this morning but after heavy rain and frozen temperatures under the pitch affecting drainage the pitch is now water logged."

Coventry v Sheffield United has been a cracking game. Blades 2-1 up but a man down. Basette being a horrible piece of work and fully expecting someone to go through him second half.

Rangers v Dundee Utd pushed back to 15:45 due to late arrival of the Utd team.
