Thought the right back was playing her onside
That was my reaction as well.

Fortunately we didn't have to wait ten minutes whilst VAR attempted to draw a straight line based on a stray boot lace before making a decision.

I like the lack of histrionics and the absence of what is essentially cheating in the women's game.

2nd half a Hearts player slid in and got a toe on the ball, Hibs players momentum carried them onwards and she trod on the leg of the Hearts player. Totally accidental but it would have hurt. Hearts player stayed down for a few seconds then got up and got on with it.

If that happened in the mens game there would be a scream, 5 rolls, clutching of the face for some reason, 4 players screaming at the ref and another couple pointing at the player on the grounds sock to show an imaginary tear.

It's quite refreshing to see players just getting on with the game.

Noticed that in a lot of Women's football. Men's game could learn a thing or two.

Sadly, that is all too true. The women play with a pride and passion that is very much lacking in the majority of the current mens team.
Agree. Show me one Hibs player with the heart, aggression and love of the club that Shiv shows.

Yip, the girls dominated that game from start to finish. Can't remember hearts creating a chance.

You wouldn't know it from the BBC commentators though. They didn't give Hibs any credit at all.

Half time was very pro-hearts. Ex player talking up hearts loads, then talking down Hibs. Then we’ll get the hearts captain in for a face to face interview.

They did have a pre-recorded interview with Siobhan Hunter, which was good, but the at-the-match stuff was all about hearts

So it was a very poor game tbh. Delighted for Rosie getting the goal tho. She’s had an awful time with injury.

Yeah, compare to the mens professional game where cheating is just another tedious marginal gain.
All life, charm and randomness now sucked from the game at elite level.
Then you have guys with the ability to run further than the rest and an ability to pass the ball efficiently and that now equates to a top level player.

Saying that, watching todays womens derby, it is obvious there is lots of room for improvement as regards players core strength and conditioning.
As for the honesty and randomness that will be knocked out of the womens game exponentially as financial rewards for success grow but fortunately that is a long way off.

Watched the last 20 and thought commentary was very pro Hearts. Bit of a shame the goal scorer and coach couldn’t enjoy going to the fans after the game. You could tell Rosie wanted to be over there when getting interviewed.

surprised that Ron never picked up and spoke out about that surely must have known if the pundits are demonstrably promoting others over us that’s ultimately bad for “business”

Have Hibs stopped using matchwornshirts to sell game jerseys?
Was looking to get my daughter one for her Christmas but they don’t seem to be any listed since September.

I assume you mean the Women rather than just Hibs in general as the Club seem to use matchwornshirts every second week! The Women appear to only do it twice a season (once after the first derby and the second towards the end of the season).

I was disappointed the BBC didn't show the Capital Cup Presentation. Can't imagine them doing that if the were covering Celtic and Rangers for a Glasgow equivalent!

I get that and don't disagree, but whilst it is there and we are beating Hearts for it, I want to see it

Did I hear BBC right that Hibs ladies recruited well in the summer?? Grant Scott to the men's team.
Clearly Ian Gordon not involved in the Hibs women's team.

The Glasgow Cup was competed for annually by senior Glasgow clubs from 1887 until 1989. There is a modern version but it's guff.
As the name suggests it was open to clubs from Glasgow whereas the Capital Cup is a cringe marketing contrivance which ignores the existence of fellow Edinburgh SWPL team Spartans.

Massive congratulations to the Hibs players and the managment for yesterdays victory which sees them in the SWPL top 5 pack with the big hitters after 13 games. Having our best season for many years.

Spartans are also not included in the men’s East of Scotland Shield, should they be? Whether they like it or not Hearts replaced them as our main rivals in the women’s game.

The East of Scotland Shield hasn't been competed for by men for over a third of a century so a moot point.

Whether Hibs and Hearts like it or not Spartans are in the same womens league as them and from the same capital city so they must qualify to compete in any Capital Cup.

Bottom line, IMO, is presenting a cup to a team for winning a league game smacks of desperate marketing. The womens game deserves better.
P.S. Maybe our men should play for the Natural Order Cup at every league game with Hearts.

The Woman's team is a real beacon of light at our club just now. There are still some positives attached to being a Hibby.
