O’Neils in Soho have been doing this for years. Not sure why it’s suddenly big news. Shame cos it was a great pub with live music a lot of tourists. Had a few good nights there over the years.

I know its not really the same thing but it reminds me of a bar I went to in New York about 12 years ago called Exchange (I believe it is now closed). It was a stock exchange themed bar where the prices of everything fluctuated according to demand and there was a stock exchange style ticker above the bar tracking the prices of the different drinks.

I think both examples would be illegal in Scotland- as I understand it prices need to be held for 78 hours (no happy hours etc) so we'll be safe from the price gauging.Mon the Hibs.

Initially the law was changed to prevent pound a drink nights, happy hours, incentivising doubles etc but in this instance it will protect the consumer if such a practice becomes commonplace.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Looking at their website, they are open until 3am every day, which in Soho is a winner. I can't imagine other clubs etc wanting them to charge ' day ' prices
after midnight so I wonder if pressure was put on them even though they are part of a big chain ?
Just a thought...

As for £1 nights - I remember (vaguely) the £1 drinks just having to last for 3 nights in a row (an offer still on the go at the Hive I believe, can't imagine the state of the spirit they serve up for that price...).

Establishment on a Thursday night was 50p a vodka, £1 a double etc...
Stereo was the same, until establishment folded and they doubled the prices! Both long gone now.

I was in a bar in Birmingham earlier in the year that had a cocktail deal that ended at 9pm. Went to the bar at 8:45, 1 server who was taking an age to do anything (it was a quiet hotel bar) and he didn't serve me until after 9. :boohoo:Mon the Hibs.

Is there the slightest possibility you may have had a bottle or two to drink prior to this horrible incident!?

For a very short period of time (got to be around 2003/2004) Gaia on King Stables Road done £20 (I think) on the door and all drinks inside were free. The con was they only had two or three people on the bars for the whole club. Think that got shut down pretty quickly.

As I got a little older I think I used to buy beers or VKs for a still ridiculously cheap amount.
