What is it that Portugal are doing to bring through the quality players that they have, they only have a population of 10m?

I know the climate helps, but we are so far behind them quality wise its frightening.

They don’t have the sfa blazers who are only focussed on themselves for a start

They also seem to regularly produce decent coaches who can do well and attract positions abroad too, when was the last time we saw a Scottish coach (especially one who’s cut their teeth coaching in Scotland first) go abroad?

Celtic €20000 and The Rangers € 32750 fined by UEFA for their fans setting off pyrotechnics

That’ll be the Ibrox January transfer budget blown then

hopefully the orcs don't listen to him :) 'Pyrotechnics must stop' at Rangers games - interim chairman John Gilligan - BBC Sport

Rangers interim chairman John Gilligan says the "use of pyrotechnics must stop" after the club were fined twice by Uefa.

A fine of approximately £11,500 for flares at the recent Europa League defeat at home by Lyon followed a penalty approaching £15,900 for a similar incident in the earlier fixture away to Malmo, which Rangers won.

Gilligan said, external of the 4-1 loss to Lyon: "The biggest disappointment of that evening, however, was the actions of a small minority of supporters, whose use of pyrotechnics at the match has seen the club fined €13,750 by Uefa. This is in addition to a €19,000 fine for a similar incident in the match with Malmo.

"My message is the use of pyrotechnics must stop and stop now at all of our matches home and away.
Gilligan says they must stop but the SPFL and SFA seem, by their inertia, to be happy enough with them so long as it's one or both of the uglies that are doing it?

The fear of strict liability shows up the financial gulf in our game. Even though everyone knows who would get hit more, the rest of us can't financially handle a run of hits.

TV coverage says it all - a protestor or banner is given short shrift.
Yet with pyro there tends to be no cut-away.

For many a year I could not see a ban on pyro from UEFA / FIFA.

In another dereliction of duty Wonder when they’ll get around to tackling racism seriously

As far as racism goes, they think they are. There's some pretty high profile activity about prevention, before the event but when it actually occurs I'm not convinced the punishment always fits the crime.

wonder where the sit in terms of jurisdiction over the seemingly repeated treatment (last season) of Vinicius.

Equally surprised John Rankin hasn't subbed him off now. Own goal, yellow and should have had second yellow.

Falkirk look really strong any time I’ve seen them. Can’t see past them for the league.

On another note, how long can Hamilton survive playing to that kind of home crowd. They’ve never had much of a crowd but that looks even less than it used to.

One of the teams I took in my coupon is Wycombe . They were 1-0 down and put on a striker called Richard Kone who looks a handful … he’s after scoring from the penalty spot to complete a hat trick , only 21 I think … 3-1 Wycombe.
