Looks like Hearts are going for Per Mathias Hogmo

Annoyingly looks a good appointment on paper

He's a very good coach, his teams play very attack minded and attractive football, hoping he doesn't go there.

I did think they’d look further afield than closer to home like Aberdeen did … see another guy Critchley getting mentioned as well though.

64 years old. Was out of the game for 3 years before going to Japan and not doing well.

Scandinavians seem to be flavour of the month in Scotland just now.

Experienced managers careers like the Norwegian usually bottom out at small insignificant clubs, will boost his pension fund tho.

  12. #3611
This guy looks more than decent. Sort of manager we should have gone for.

Looks like he has been overlooked, thankfully keeps the door at Easter Road open for him.

Maybe play “grandad” before the derby
As someone who’s the same age as this guy, there’s no way I’d be wanting to take such a stressful job on at this age

He’s been dreadful in 3 of his previous 4 jobs.

Hogmo has turned down the hearts job according to STV. What a shambles 😃

Going by press reports the predictable identikit manager they were looking for.

Scandinavian, successful in those neck of the woods and copying Aberdeen's route. Wee bit older than expected and didn't cut it in Japan.

A bit different and provides some their support with some hope of a sea change in style. Will be interesting to see if their current squad can adapt to fit in with the way he wants to play, but he is stuck with them for another 3 months. Points wise however, he doesn't really have to achieve much to improve their position.

Derby game is big as usual and gives Gray a sliding doors moment.

Yes, a lot riding on not losing the derby but as someone else posted I think Bowie's injury may prove to be his sliding doors moment.

No reason 63 should be seen as old for a manager. It certainly didn't used to be. Pretty sure Alex Ferguson was into his 70s when he retired (although he did try to retire earlier before allegedly being told by his wife he was too young!).

Pleasing, that's the first manager they've supposedly went for in a long time that I really didn't want them to get, normally I'm non plussed about their appointments, mainly because they're all cut from very similar cloth but Hogmo is different and with a club the size of us Aberdeen or the yams, I think he'd do very well.

Never said over the hill, but you should be easing off in your 60’s

Interesting that he went through the interview process and that the club let it be known things were looking positive. They must have been confident of announcing him as boss.

Maybe sharing training facilities with Heriot-Watt students put him off...

Heard he didn't fancy the extra responsibility of night porter duties at Tyniemotel...

I blame the Hearts fans. They own the club after all...

So Hearts are going to turn up at Easter Road in two weeks' time in the absolute worst possible shape for a derby?

    I've seen this script before...

Nonsense Billy 60 is no age at all these days. If the motovation is there then why not look at Davie Moyes for example at 61 years old he's hardly finished.

Probably wasn't happy at having to pay visitors prices in Dickens.

Another rumour about them that’s probably not true ….
