Mental stat, 21 games lost in a row. Got to feel for the fans, that club is in a right state

No real consequences for losing though.

Surprised that my Red Sox got 61 wins so far this season, I really was expecting a terrible season.

Actually been pretty surprised by your Red Sox too, performing above expectations. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them go on a run that gets them within striking distance of the Y*knees and Orioles tbh.

Cleveland have been a bit off in their last 10 games (3-7 record) but still top the AL Central with a record of 67-49. Minnesota Twins aren’t far off now though with a record of 65-50 (7-3 record in last 10).

Well there’s that, but also Chicago is and always has been a Cubs town. Still must be soul destroying following the White Sox just now and just continually watching them be dismantled by teams that are far, far above their level. Makes me glad we have relegation and promotion in our sports culture in Europe tbh.

Possible for the cry babies, they are prone to losing streaks!

After the Mutts and Atlanta, the Mankees are my least favourite team. I’d love nothing more than you to stop them getting a playoff spot. I might actually celebrate if it happened. Good luck ⚾️

I'm always torn between them not making it to the playoffs or watching them lose in the championship game...

Been watching Astros @ Red Sox tonight and have to say I’m pretty impressed by Arrighetti, to only give up two runs in 7 innings at what is considered to be a hitters ballpark, both being solo homers. Not bad.

As an aside, imagine your first Big League homer being over the Green Monster and out the park? Take a bow Dezenzo.

Both of my teams are surprising me this year - I don't see either making playoff baseball, but definitely exceeded my expectations!

The NL West is still quite tight (save for the Rockies).
It's hard to stitch my own back with these shaky hands
But even harder to accept the scars you left were planned

Phillies have stuttered a wee bit recently since losing Schwarber, Realmuto and Harper to injuries. All due back within the next two weeks, I’m genuinely quite impressed with how well they’ve coped with losing three big hitters like that though, to be perfectly honest. Clemens, Stubbs/Marchan and Dahl/Merrifield are all decent enough replacement players but not ideal for the length of time that we’ve had to rely on them for. Hope Harper isn’t flung into the deep end in the All-Star game next week but can’t see him not playing, I’d imagine he’ll be under strict warning to not over exert himself in what’s basically an exhibition game (obviously a great honour to be an All Star but the Phillies have to come first, it’s not going to be his last!).

Were you at the game on Sunday wearing a Phillies Liberty Bell city connect hat? I saw someone walking around wearing one after the game.

Weston Wilson becomes only the 9th Philadelphia Phillie to hit for the cycle tonight. We’re heating up, the timing feels good, roll on October. Here comes the Phillies…

WBC tournament pools announced today, not finishing last place in pool B would be an achievement for GB imo. USA, Cuba, Japan and Dominican Republic to top the groups with Mexico, Puerto Rico (will be close with Panama I think), Korea and Israel (really don’t rate Venezuela atm) going through as runners up. Japan to win the tournament outright.

Jackson Holliday has looked really good for the O’s from what I’ve seen since his recall from AAA. Starting to live up to the hype a little bit? I’d be really surprised if the O’s don’t make a serious challenge for the WS in the next five years with all the talent they’ve got in that roster

Johnny Gould? Todd Macklin was the Canadian co-host often I think.

The guy I'm thinking of is called Mark Webster, who after looking at his wiki he didn't do MLB, so your guy is probably the man for that.

The Tigers the hottest team in MLB right now. Had some ground to make up to grab a play off spot but making the ground up. 27-11 since the start of August, no one can currently match that.

    Go Tigers!

Watching the final game at the Coliseum, watching a sell out crowd sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame in the 7th inning stretch, knowing it’ll be the last time they get to do so supporting the team they love… touching. Hearts broken for them.

Watching that as well. An emotional night.

All attendees tonight can get a souvenir ticket and miniature stadium… but only AFTER the 7th inning when you leave the stadium! This muppet is seriously wanting to bribe people to leave in the 7th to back up his statement that people never supported the A’s in Oakland. He should be ashamed of himself, but he won’t be.

Yep, very surreal. Genuinely feel for the fans, I wasn’t born during the Mercer saga at Hibs and I can’t remember the Wimbledon - MK Dons stuff happening, but I can imagine how it must feel for them.

Tigers make the play offs for the first time in 10 years! Coming from nowhere, 31-11 now since early August.

    Go Tigers, on fire.

Liking the format of this BBC coverage, the commentators are a bit brutal but quite enjoying it apart from that.

I’d rather just pick a game and watch it. Sticking with it though, it might grow on me.

I’m gonna take a punt on the Phillies to go all the way. I’ve just cursed them. 😁

Are you saying I should cash out my Phillies outright then hope you’re right, I honestly don’t see it the way we’ve been playing since the All Star Break. Maybe the bye will do us the world of good but I just don’t see it this year unfortunately.
