Actor James Darren has died at the age of 88 .

He was in Star Trek and the brilliant film ‘ The Guns of Navarone . I most remember him in the series ‘ The Time Tunnel.

Just seen that Brian Trueman died on the 1st September. Maybe not a well known name but if you're my age (50) he will have had an influence on your childhood. He was a writer, broadcaster and voice actor responsible (writing and/or acting) for things like Chorlton and the Wheelies, Jamie and the Magic Torch, Super Ted, Dangermouse, Count Duckula and many more. He was 92.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Can't believe that, we were just talking about him the other day when my grandson was watching Danger Mouse. Count Duckula was genius.

Saw him in Edinburgh once. Think it might have been a Fringe show where he talked about his career and played a few tunes, including Grandad.

Wow that is shocker. One of my childhood memories is of him at Italia 90. He can't have been that old.

Just noticed Tony Soper died a couple of days ago. Naturalist, author and broadcaster he will probably be remembered mostly for co hosting Animal Magic with Johnny Morris back in the 60s but was a staple, certainly in kids Natural History TV right through to the 80s. I was 9 when my uncle bought me my first one of his books (Discovering Birds) as he tried to convert me into an avid twitcher along with long days out at Martin Mere! I was hooked up until I hit my teens when other things became my focus in life!! I regret that now I have lost so much of the knowledge I gained from his books and my uncle, but I am still pretty good at identifying waterfowl and waders.

Watching The One Show tonight was shocked to learn that The Script’s bass guitarist Mark Sheehan ( the one with the shaved head ) had passed away in April 2023 at 46 after a short illness
