Thread: Hibs Women

  1. #2551
I see we're back on this topic again. I'll gladly add fuel to the fire that I can't wait for the day MM gets himself to **** from Hibs and I support any and all messages of protest from Hibees Pride or any other supporter group about him.

The club let itself down appointing him and the recent efforts to chase Elie's racial abuser, while correct, is extremely ironic.

Aye, but they were a big team in the women's game long before The Big Team got the benefactor's money. I'm also having a pop at Hibs for bigging up the Capital Cup, for the "Edinburgh Derby" when Spartans were our only capital challenger for years, but we've chosen to forget that.
    Correct.

it’s not been done to death. It’s been deflected by people that think it’s not important, including our non-exec Chairman.
Exactly . That`s what I was trying to say before . Decision to appoint MM was another example of those in charge not having a clue about our historical support`s feelings .

Totally agreed. A shambolic appointment by people who have no connection with our support.

I have been to well over 1000 Hibs matches and I will judge him on the job he does for the club.

The group displaying the flags and banners was primarily the hardcore who support the women's team week in, week out.
Okay. I might need to stand corrected.

    Why tonight?

And why the Green Brigade stuff?

Why then no protest against the multiple other conflicts around the world where presumably LGBT people are also suffering? Or sympathy for the Israeli LGBT victims of the Hamas massacre? The fact the world's only Jewish state is the one which gets singled out is very telling. It's antisemitism (ie racism) pure and simple.

You're right, it's one for another forum but these kind of protests need called out for what they are.
I never go in for what about arguments man.

But I'd happily watch a game with you at Meadowbank and, even though I think we disagree on most things political, have a pint after to put the world to rights.

Final point, one benefit of the games at Meadowbank is the tea is better, because the water at ER is sh*te.

Can I ask the admins to not move this thread, as the current debate will die down soon enough and we can talk about Hibs women afterwards as usual

I assume you’ve never said anything dodgy your whole life? Never made a comment to mates about any part of a woman’s body for example?

Some absolute nonsense written about stuff like this. He had 3 or 4 dodgy private messages out of 10k reviewed. Suspect people are lying to themselves if they think they are any better.

I may have made a few ‘dodgy’ comments. I may well in fact be a woman!

Anyway this is not a debate about me. I’m not a Director of our historic football club so not up for public scrutiny. We deserve better.

    10 , 100 , 1000 makes no difference . Would you want us to sign a 40 goal a season striker if he was a racist ?

Aw come on. Would a racist sanction then laud the signings of Ekpiteta, Hoilett and Kwon?

He sent some daft texts privately.

Actually, they weren't private. They were on a work phone, which would beg the question if he was comfortable doing that in a work environment, what was he comfortable saying in private?

A 1:1 text is still private. No matter the ownership of the device. If he sent it via a work collaboration tool then you’d have a point. This whole debate is pointless tho. Hes in for the next 4 years unless something goes drastically wrong, and a dozen people campaigning at the womens game won’t change that.

Did you lead the protests against any of our players who may have joined in songs about refugees?

It's not, because I could put in a freedom of information request and get that info if it's work devices etc. Can't do that for a personal device.

It's probably not relevant to the debate, but, since you've mentioned it a couple of times.... Malky Mackay is not a director of the Club

Dreadful performance from the team last night. Change of formation and players and position of others made a difference but they didn’t take the chances when they can and got caught against the run of play for the 4th.

Really poor after a good start to the season.

Entitled to their opinion, no need to describe them as 'freaks' just because you don't share their opinions, and as a lot of them are from the LGBT community maybe try to see things through their own experiences
Just to be clear the only thing i was complaining about was the Mackay out banner no issue with any of the other banners flags whatever. Just seemed unnecessarily attention seeking. Apologies freaks was too far.

The bigger game was arguably Celtic away last week and we were a bit unfortunate not to win with a really excellent performance. Tonight has me thinking Hibs as a club just can't handle the sight of a team in maroon.
    Yes that will be it

Shambolic ?? To me looks exactly what the team and club needs. Glad he is here. Made mistakes as we all do. Apologised. Learnt his lesson now we move on.

You cannot get a freedom of information enforcement on mobile phone txt in a private company. If there was you could ask for my phone. The txts that malky sent were found after he handed his phone over to the club.

    Back to the football…

The team selection was weird but think it shows that Hibs will probably finish 5th this season..few weak spots still in the team and better sides will punish those areas.

Sore one last night since it due to scoreline - but still 3 more derbies and lots of points to play.

    Celtic / Rangers
    Rangers / Celtic
    Hearts / Glasgow City
    Glasgow City / Hearts
    Hibs

Club clearly knew they would be stoking controversy in appointing MacKay when we have a high profile Women's team with success over many years.

They chose to overlook any poor publicity the club would get. Didn't really help when McPherson called the justified criticism in MacKay's appointment as 'depressing'. His words.

Think most people would distance themselves from MacKay and his texts.
