Keep that away from Easter Rd. Go tag along with the Green Brigade.
We were built by migrants and Malky should be nowhere near Hibs (or any other football club) with his views.

must admit that was what I couldn’t get my head around with his appointment.

I have views on drink drivers but not sure on the relevance to the subject matter being discussed here.

You want us to bin a man who sent some dodgy texts? Do you want rid of our captain for being done for drink driving? Anyhow I'd like to see someone try this flag stunt at a men's game, embarrassing.

If we are talking about about the 2 Malky’s then I could not agree more!
Why would they be seen as freaks rather than attention seeking fans mimicking their heroes in the green brigade. Nothing at all to do with Scottish football

'Built by migrants' seems a fairly innocuous statement, it's hardly removed from reality. I daresay we will hear a lot more about such things as we approach a major milestone in our history.

The pride flags are displayed at every women's game. We have an active LGBT supporters group so no real issue.

The Mackay stuff has been done to death. I support rehabilitation, plenty others feel he crossed a line and shouldn't be at the club. I can see why certain groups would be uncomfortable with him. The point has been made though and he's going nowhere.

Palestine flags appear at a lot of games not exclusively Celtic. Again I get why some people don't like it but I understand them.

Nothing displayed tonight really seemed to be harming anyone or particularly offensive so I can't get that worked up about it.

Strange question . What relevance does it have here ? Unfortunately some of our prominent players have been guilty of the terrible crime of drink driving in recent years . I would certainly hope that if they repeat they won`t play for us again . A significant % of fans must drive to home and away matches given reduced number of supporters buses compared with say 30 years ago and higher number of fans who don`t live within walking distance of Easter Road . I`m always surprised reminders aren`t made about not drinking and driving but I suppose it`s because it`s assumed all drivers need no reminders and nothing to do with not upsetting sponsors or reducing hospitality income .
As for banner about MM . Every time we were looking for a new manager in the last decade and the name of MM came up there was always considerable opposition to his appointment because of his history . That hadn`t changed earlier this year and his appointment was just another example of those running the club not being on the same wavelength as many of the supporters or having little or no understanding of fans`s views and I`m not claiming to represent fans`views .
Anyway , this is a thread about our women`s team so apologies for joining in hijacking it .
There are obviously 2 subjects which can be debated in other threads :
    1. Club`s attitude to drink driving and alcohol company sponsorship .
    2. Employment of people who have been punished for racism and other forms of discrimination .
That should be a concern for all clubs but more so for our club given our roots as we approach our 150th anniversary .

They committed an offence and were punished appropriately in the eyes of the law.

Still unclear on the relevance of that, to one of Hibernians Directors being reported to have racist and homophobic views.

Do you have an opinion on how our team played in the first half? Or the second half?

Well, it wasn't me that made the comparison. But I believe that the point was - if racism is bad and worth getting someone out the club, can't the same be said for drink driving?

Anyway, this is well off topic, so no point continuing it.

Done to death where and when ? I`m sure there are many Hibs fans who didn`t want MM employed by our club after the comments appeared , still didn`t want him appointed when he was ( after an exhaustive search for a better alternative presumably ) and still wouldn`t even if he signed Messi for us . ¨Done to death ¨? Maybe but that doesn`t mean that many Hibs fans are still disappointed by his appointment .

Spartans are getting relegated ! Way off it.
Aye, but they were a big team in the women's game long before The Big Team got the benefactor's money. I'm also having a pop at Hibs for bigging up the Capital Cup, for the "Edinburgh Derby" when Spartans were our only capital challenger for years, but we've chosen to forget that.

    Why? Self obsessed clowns
Entitled to their opinion, no need to describe them as 'freaks' just because you don't share their opinions, and as a lot of them are from the LGBT community maybe try to see things through their own experiences

Uh huh, LGBT fair enough but Hamas would have them lynched so **** knows what the Palestine stuff is about.
I'm not wanting to get into it as I appreciate someone like yourself who supports the women's team, but I've seen LGBT groups push back on thay argument by pointing out bombs from the sky kill LGBT people too.

But let's leave this alone cause I don't want this thread to be moved to the Holy Ground

I did yes. I thought Hibs played below par compared to previous weeks and Hearts scored some great goals unfortunately . One of those nights TBH.

Can’t let the team derail what has been a good start to the season on one night, despite a painful defeat though.

If our women's team, or the folk who actually support them (as opposed to just turning up for an ER gig), wanted to make a thing about these issues, wouldn't it have been done by now?

I totally get, and support, playing at ER to increase attendance, but it's a scunner that debutant folk from the men's game bring the nonsense with them.

Nah Scott's just done that nippy think where the coach has a big game and overthinks it, thereby changing a formula that's been paying off. You see it all the time and a lot of the time it goes badly
The bigger game was arguably Celtic away last week and we were a bit unfortunate not to win with a really excellent performance. Tonight has me thinking Hibs as a club just can't handle the sight of a team in maroon.

Why then no protest against the multiple other conflicts around the world where presumably LGBT people are also suffering? Or sympathy for the Israeli LGBT victims of the Hamas massacre? The fact the world's only Jewish state is the one which gets singled out is very telling. It's antisemitism (ie racism) pure and simple.

You're right, it's one for another forum but these kind of protests need called out for what they are.

Best thing MacKay could do is meet with the group and have an open and frank conversation about what he's learned since the episode in question that's and why that's not representative of who he is now.

That situation is going to follow him around until he's got the public backing of support groups who genuinely believe that he's changed his views. I'm all for rehabilitation, but there's also the part where people need to understand the consequences of their actions and unfortunately for Malky there will be many who will never believe he's changed his views, and that's something he needs to just accept.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that some potential signings might be put off because of his past, so from Hibs point of view the more people he can convince he genuinely understands how hurtful the things he said were and why he wouldn't do them again the better. The important part though is it needs to be genuine not just lip service.

The group displaying the flags and banners was primarily the hardcore who support the women's team week in, week out.

    So in summary .
Very disappointing result tonight but hopefully all involved ( manager , players etc ) will look at match and try to improve things in future . Just as they do after every match .
Banner at match , club recognise privately ( they won`t do it publicly ) that there was / is opposition to appointment of MM . Particularly as we start celebrations of our founding 150 years ago soon . Some fans question accepting sponsorship from alcohol selling companies and continuous promoting of their products .

it’s not been done to death. It’s been deflected by people that think it’s not important, including our non-exec Chairman.
