Fun and games in the 5000 metres heats and the British guy went after the French guy after the race. Don't really blame him, it looked like he was pushed but that's just my opinion.

Found out today he's Danny Mills the footballers son, makes more sense now

Hell is the starter playing at?

Some of the holds have been ridiculous and that one in the women's 400m semi final was farcical😅

Watching a fair bit of the Olympics this afternoon, I, surprisingly, got hooked on the men’s skateboarding. Not usually my cup of tea but the talent and skill on show was incredible.

What a race for the men's 400m final.

Hudson-Smith runs the 5th fastest time ever and gets silver. If you offered him that time this morning he'd have taken it and assumed he was getting gold.

Unbelievable run from Hall to pip him on the line.

France 73-69 Germany first semi final in the basketball, Guerschon Yabusele with a great game for France and wemby needs to make better shooting decisions if they stand a chance for gold.

USA Serbia later in which USA should win.

Tebogo bosses the 200m, soon as he hit the front entering the straight the race was over. Great run.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone breaking the world record in the women’s 400 metre hurdles has to be one of the highlights of the games. Amazing run.

For me she's probably the best all round athlete in the world, but I think she might move to the 400 flat. That's the 2nd time she's destroyed Bol, and anyone who watches athletics will know just how good Femke Bol is., she's a brilliant runner but McLaughlin is just unbeatable.

Interesting to see what she does.

She'd be brilliant over the flat but I wonder if that 49 second barrier over hurdles tempts her.

She was brilliant tonight; Bol is world class and was beaten from a mile out, it was mental as well as physical.

Yep, good performance that. I can't help wondering though, if Lyles tested positive for Covid on Tuesday, why was he running? Also, he gave one or 2 folk a hug after the race I suppose they would now have to be tested with relays coming up?

What a tw*t that Dutch hockey player was shushing the German keeper. Just celebrate your achievement not your opponent's woe.

I am in awe of the women in the heptathlon. The fatigue and strain on their bodies must be unreal by this point but they keep on pulling it out the bag.

Looks like it is going to go to the wire as well. That final 800m must be absolutely exhausting mentally and physically.

Netherlands-Germany innit? A lot of collective sporting and other kinds of history there. I’ll never forget Frank Rijkards little parting gift on the top of Rudi Vollers barnet.

Every 4 years I remember how childish my sense of humour is, weightlifting and they have just commented on the "numbers in his snatch" and how "clean his jerk was", don't think I will ever grow up

Some effort from KJT. For a second or 2 coming off the top bend it looked like she might do it.

Some sensational running there from a few of them considering the effort they have put in the last couple of days.

She did brilliantly, I’m delighted she finally has that Olympic medal. It was a bit of an eye opener seeing how well we have done at multi-sports events over the years, a record to be proud of.

Haven't watched any Olympics but out of the corner of my eye caught the women's breakdancing final. Stunning talent on show.

Cairess is running a stormer through halfway in the marathon. It's a brutal course and he looks comfortable, relatively speaking.

Stunning from Tola to break the Olympic record on that course and a brilliant run from Cairess to get 4th.

A biological male boxing as a female and winning gold will ensure the debate/furore around the impact of inclusion in women's sport will gather fresh impetus.

Where were you when she lost at the Olympics 4 years ago? Or the other times she has lost fights? I definitely haven't taken any side in this debate as it tends to get very toxic but as I see it the victim in all of this is the woman who won gold. Below is a really good article that perhaps you should read. It shows the complexities of the issue and not the black and white as you want to portray it

Some would argue the biological females who missed out on a gold or a medal are victims too. It's such a shame for the boxer who probably didn't know she was biologically male until she was a teenager.

I probably er on chromosome testing, if you are biologically male you can't compete against females. Her and Caster Semenya as biological males could have male aspects in their body shape bone density ect, if there is a chance of an advantage its unfair. It can't just be on testosterone at a certain point unless you test every day from in utero.

I notice the Canadian 4 x 100 metre winners came out doing the x sign that the loosing boxers have started to do post defeat so I doubt this will go away.

I hope the BBC show the basketball final on the iPlayer, USA strong favourites, can Wembanyama be the hero for France.

The Men's Madison in the velodrome was compulsive viewing. I have no idea what was really going on but I enjoyed the chaos.

What a 800metres final. Photofinish and only 2 tenths outside a world record. The Kenyan just hangs on.
