Reckon there's a decent chance she will. Hypothetical poll of Biden alternatives had her as the only candidate to beat Trumphttps://x.com/Ground_app/status/1808630845001044043?t=oDzHegvt2eX6EpKLo5tbdA&s=19
I think there is almost zero chance she runs. She has shown no interest so far and is untested. If she ever decides in future it will be in a longer campaign and not against a VP.

I think she jumps up once nominated as people usually do. All his material about Biden being old is getting ripped up incase it's used against him. I don't think he'll like the debates against a trained lawyer, definitely a race is on

They need to stop using national polls. They should just poll the main purple states as that is where this will be won and lost. Harris will rack up millions of extra votes in California and Trump will do the same in Texas but it won’t change much either way. Both candidates will be focussed on key states that are in play to flip either way.

Yeah I agree but it does show she's had about a 0.8% bump from Biden and I think one she's confirmed it's tight. It's certainly not the formality some are saying in my opinion

DaveF made the point a few pages back - she needs to overcome being a woman/person of colour in what is still a misogynistic and racist political system...obviousy Obama proved it's not impossible, but I'm concerned being a woman will go against her for many.

But she is a safer, and more logical choice (from a campaign fund perspective if nothing else!) than any other possible candidates.
It's hard to stitch my own back with these shaky hands
But even harder to accept the scars you left were planned

Given the way the electoral college is weighted, you really need at least a five point lead in the national vote to get the swing states on board for a Democratic win. Anything less than that will be a Republican victory.

I personally don't have any issues with Michelle Obama or Hilary Clinton... well, maybe a bit with Clinton... but Biden and two ex-Presidents' wives as the Democrat candidates?

Pelosi and Jeffries backing Harris now. Hard to see anyone standing against her now.

Notice Trump has reverted to type with a nasty personal attack on Harris, his turning a new leaf since the assination attempt didn't last long.

He is well suited to Trump. How this sort of stuff has become normalised in the US is incredible. How can anyone with a functioning brain cell contemplate voting for these idiots.

That's deplorable, sad wee man. The fact that he wants to ban ivf whilst saying this furthers his cruelty. Does this dweeb think he has more of a stake in America than childless George Washington

I fear with the rise of Trump's mate Nigel, that we probably won't be too far away from stuff like that being normalised here. The 'funny' thing is, a lot of the people coming out with or supporting this sort of thing seem to be 'extreme' Christians and will probably be the sort that describe people following 'extreme' Islam as terrorists. They are essentially extreme Christian terrorists.

If Trump does win, he'll be worse this time round. Last time you felt Pence did try to reign him in at times or if he didn't at least looked embarrassed by him sometimes. This time, the VP is arguably worse than Trump and will be encouraging him on.

Definitely don't want Trump egged on, except in a strictly John Prescott sort of a way.

The first time round, I think he was also hampered by his lack of experience and knowledge of government and how things work, and couldn't carry out some of his grimmer plans. He's said that this time, he'll be replacing governmet lawyers and key officials with loyalists.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear: Clinton was the candidate in 2016, Biden in 2020 and the poster suggested Obama was/is being considered this time. Just seems such a narrow and unimaginative group in a country of over 300 million people.

Looks like Kennedy hurts Trump more than Harris. Not surprising.
