I see Jude Bellingham's script writer had the night off
    He was playing?

One decent lay off but was a bit of a rabbit caught in the headlights, guy next to me thought Rice was Spain's best midfielder

    Really?
Been a fair amount of realism before and after the game. Of course there was a sense of expectancy as we would have if we ever reached that level but I didn’t sense any exaggerated arrogance. I have a fair few English friends and family who really didn’t expect to win.
As for the coverage, imagine the Scottish media if we got to a final.
One small sample. I have same, and quite opposite reaction. All thought this was England's to lose. Spain were not given a 2nd thought. Everyone carried away with the usual hype and jingoism.

Didn't take Southgate long to get another job ! 😳

    Aye that's what I found.

I was down in England until Thursday and spent a bit time in my father in laws local and there was no real arrogance there, not even confidence. General consensus was they had to be much better than they had been to beat Spain and (thankfully) they weren't.

What’s the clown saying now? I opted to listen to Wright greeting about it on ITV.

It’s never really the majority of there fans. It’s the ex players and media who make them utterly detestable.

    Get it up them. 🇪🇸

Apart from a wee patch of sunlight just north of Reading.
I remember staying in Reading over the weekend of the Millwall game, absolutely mental. Gower Road IIRC.

I wish we could still have proper trophy presentations. Captain lifts it then passes it down the line. Thankfully we got that in 2016. The big group thing does nothing for me.

If that winning goal had been scored up here we’d still be waiting for a decision .

Get yourselves tuned into Talk Sport radio, comedy gold salty tears everywhere. Adrian Durham & Stuart Pearce looking forward to Jamie O’Hara & Jason Cundy later your boys took a hellava beating

Some of the stuff being aimed at Southgate on social media is unreal.

I don't much rate him as a manager but when you look at the mess he inherited he has done a very good job. He's not the man to win them a tournament and should probably walk now but he should go with thanks rather than abuse ringing in his ears.

He doesn't want to leave iirc. Many have already asked the question.

Like Southgate and feel sorry for the guy. A thankless task unless you win the WC/Euros, has taken all sort of abuse and carried out the job with dignity. Even speaking after the game, was analytical and clear minded. Wish him well.
