It's hypothetical, but I'm 100% certain that they would.

I watched the Scotland v Hungary game in my local in York. Everyone was supporting Scotland and were genuinely disappointed when we got knocked out.

Had we progressed to the semi, it would have been big news and it would have been generally welcomed.

Eh? England game was on BBC. ITV has the other quarter final, Netherlands - Turkey. So you’d expect the build up to be focussed on that. Not Showing live scenes of England celebrating a quarter final win that’s being shown on another channel.

If you flipped it round and Dutch TV were covering a game and the Dutch had just qualified (game being shown on another channel) I’m pretty sure they’d cut away to talk about their own team.
