So far, England's best players have been the ref and VAR who didn't award Serbia the penalty for Trippier's foul in the box in their first game. Otherwise, they'd be going into their final group game needing a win to ensure progressing to the knock out stage. Watching England players throw themselves to the ground for 90+ minutes doesn't make for an entertaining game.

We're top of the group, let's keep going like that. Says Kyle Walker. Four times.

    Media training from Rachel Reeves.

Kyle Walker talking some sense. The pundits have lost the plot.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if Slovenia beat them 😂

    Denmark pressing them to death.
Very impressive. Matched the energy of Scotland last night, but also calm in possession, good passing and movement. All the hand-wringing analysis will be about how poor England were and little praise for the way Denmark went about shaking them up. Has the sky fallen in yet ?

Slovenia were excellent today and were very unlucky not to get three points. They have a top, big tall skilful striker #11 who will cause England trouble.

This England team are very ordinary. Maybe Southgate should have stuck with his old favourites after all 😁
No they're not. Potentially, they're capable of beating any team in the world. They destroyed Scotland at a canter and will still go far in this tournament. Great players, questionable management.

Have you watched their two games? Were lucky to take full points in the first game and lucky to get one point today. They won't get far in this competition.

Couple of very good players and a bunch of standard ones hyped well beyond their ability by the English media.

Why can't the three idiots listen to Thomas Frank? He actually knows modern football. Talked over him, so ignorant.

Can you buy Southgate's magic waistcoat and Warburton's magic hat as a job lot from the charity shop as they are not in full working order?

Terrible mentality from England in both games. Look the better side, get themselves ahead then get instructed to drop deep and basically scare themselves.

  13. #582
    The punditry is hilarious btw.

Lineker, Ferdinand and Richards are like 3 drunk fans ranting in the boozer just lashing out at everyone and anyone. No rational analysis at all.

It's less emotive on a match day thread on here.

Thought he was right to be bullish, usual media pundit hysteria.

Shearer is meant to be a sensible guy he was ridiculous at the end there.

Shearer for all his Premiership goals, and he was amazing at that level admittedly, never really done it at international level when it mattered or the Champions League. That is of course partly down to his decision to sign with Newcastle.

He's also a fair bit behind Kane in terms of goals scored per game at international level.

Very good player but the way he goes on you'd think he was one the best to ever play the game.

“England held to 1-1 draw by Denmark” is the BBC take on it. I’d say that Denmark were the much better and it was Denmark who were held to a draw.

At the start of the tournament I was worried that England had a really good chance of winning it. I’m now pretty confident that they won’t,

There are 4 or 5 teams bette than England in Germany and they won’t all be caught out.

Fabian Ruiz has been outstanding, in saying that Spain have looked decent all over the park.

Shearer is admittedly a terrible pundit, but one of the best, most aggressive old-fashioned number nine’s I’ve ever seen play.

It’s been a cracking game but as you would expect with Spain and Italy they love rolling around on the grass, so stop start

He was but his goals per game is less than Kane at both domestic and international level.

Kane has also went abroad and scored 44 goals in his first season for Bayern.

Shearer was a good player without a doubt but I get the impression he thinks he was better than he actually was.

Shearer was definitely one of the best centre forwards.
