He's gone hasnt he. Thanks for the memories he wont ever be back on the big stage. Big banger in his time, not the most gifted technical boxer tho.

I know that it has been mentioned before but the atmosphere was like a library in Saudi for all the fights, also the constant thanking of Turki Al-Sheikh and his cronies is way over the top, one commentator even said how much the Saudis love the sport and really know the business as they sat yawning and playing on their mobiles.

I think a huge part of the problem is they are trying to make it like a western event but with none of the crowd interaction. Blaring out Sweet Caroline and pausing for participation when none is forthcoming, it almost feels like it would be better if they put their own stamp on it.

I've wondered what the situation is with alcohol. Is it forbidden for foreign fans for the boxing or are the rules relaxed? I can't imagine the 2.5K who followed Fury over were keen on a dry trip. The rules are pretty flexible anyway depending on who you are; a guy I deal with at work is a wine merchant and 2 of his biggest customers are Saudi businessman who curry favour with the ruling family and thus seem be exempt from religious law😅

i think Wilders tactics were to avoid Zhang for the early rounds hoping he would run out of puff i didn't expect quite that poor performance from him.

i like Dubois and that was a good performance, would he beat AJ ? nope i don't think so but would be good if he got a shot at him though

Come on. Have a little respect. Nearly 50 fights at heavyweight.

he's obviously not a bum but imo he's really not beaten any "big" names and the titles he's won in the last nine years have all been WBC belts, don't know about anyone else but i've never really rated the WBC, think it goes back a couple of decades ago when my auld man said that and i've always thought the same since :)

It was the 'bum' thing I took issue with to be fair.

You can only beat who's in front of you as they say. And if you've fought close to 50 fights in the heavyweight division, regardless of the perceived standard, then you deserve respect. One punch can end a life, especially at heavyweight.

Wilder is obviously no boxing technician, but he possessed a devastating punch.

He's obviously done as an elite boxer but I don't think he can ever be dismissed as having been a bum. His trilogy v Fury made for compelling viewing, by any heavyweight standard.

watched the Jake Paul v Mike Parry fight Sun morning, Paul had him down in the 1st and the 2nd before finally TKO win in the 6th, looked quite competent but i'm still convinced a 58 year old Mike Tyson will knock him out in November.

Is Jake Paul not juiced out his nut? Chat is that's the reason he's never fought anywhere with stringent testing. Could well be bollocks mind you.

Notice he called out another MMA fighter after the win

It was Alex Pereira he called out apparently. Not big on MMA so no idea who he is to be honest.

Chisora Joyce on BT just now

Both fighters were blowing after 2 rounds. Some heavy hits being thrown and landing though

Class fight. Never world beaters in any way but pure sluggers giving everything in them.

To the scorecards we go. Knockdown might just swing it for chisora. Some scrap

Scoring was poor in my opinion too wide but knock down was important. Hugging Farage at the end was brutal

Chisora looks and sounds terrible. Hope he is ok.

That was bizarre with farage eh!?

I think the 2 scoring it 96-94 was fair enough. Other one was wild

  24. #3713
Joyce is far too upbeat considering this could be his career over

Paid to lose here? Strange excitement towards Chisora

Just read Chisora went to America with Farage to support Trump and campaigned for Farage in Clacton. After reading that Joyce was robbed I tell you

    I worry about him.

He always gives value for money in a fight (one of the Fury fights when he was in awful shape excepted) but he has been in a lot of wars and taken a lot of beatings. As you say he just doesn't look or sound right now. Hope he retires now and goes out on a high, he has earned it.

I watched the Pacquiao fight earlier today. That was painful. He should stay well retired.

Not too surprising that someone whose been repeatedly hit in the head would be interested in those types of politicians.
