Delighted for Villa. Really enjoyed our away leg down there - a proper football club and a cracking stadium.

Just shows you our results were far from the disgrace the BBC painted them out to be. We were just unfortunately first in a long line of teams (now including Ajax) who have been scudded by them this season. They are class and led my none other than our SJM.

Obviously Villa were the favourites to win the whole thing, but our tie against them was over by half time in the first leg due to naive tactics.

Agreed. Looking at it subjectively they played Ajax at full pelt knowing the tie was very much in play and they had to play well to progress after drawing in Amsterdam.

Their home game against us they were basically in 2nd gear as the tie was completely finished in the first 45 minutes at ER.

Very pleasing, normally wouldnt bother my arse to much about the stickies but after their song book shenanigence at the weekend, GIRUY.

In fact, this will make them doubly determined to beat the shxte across the road in the cup as they are now out.

    Even more pleasing.
Agreed. Couldn't care less about their European games but if getting knocked out sharpens their focus on beating the yams then it's all good.

They would have hammered us whatever our tactics. Compared to the days when we could hold our own against the top English clubs, Villa now operate on a different planet to us.

    Europa league draw

AC Milan v Roma (will be spicy)
    Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham

    Benfica v Marseille
    Liverpool v Atalanta

Liverpool and West Ham kept apart, could still play the final in Dublin

Would've been with perfect tactics as well. You're talking about a side full of 50 million pound players, in their best years, with a manager who's won what, 4 Europa leagues?

    Was never a contest.

Leverkusen V West Ham the most intriguing tie there for me.

Alonso the current golden boy V Moyes and his bus parking, old school tactics. Should a really interesting, if maybe not scintillating, watch.

Nothing too exciting about the others.

it's ridiculously bad for every BBC live game recently (I'm watching via Virgin). However just discovered a workaround watching live via the Iplayer - back to normal quality.

My picture is perfect on Sky.

Although that yellow card for Watt certainly wasn't perfect, in fact it was an even worse decision than any of the ones we've suffered recently!

Dundee United have got the 2nd best defensive record in Scotland before tonight.

    Dunfermline are toiling with injuries.

    What is going on?

  27. #13046
Really hope Raith go on to win the league. Cannot stand Jim Goodwin.

Happy for Mcpake and Dunfermline tonight, former bosses are big Pars fans and they’ve had a **** season, they might even be in with a shout of the play offs.
