Have always (always) said the refereeing in Scotland does the OF no favours when they move into European competition. They are conditioned to getting ****my decisions in their favour here but their "charsima" doesn't wash in Europe. In the 90s Scottish refs were scared/biased enough to let them away with murder but in Europe they were carded when they deserved it. Without that conditioning they actually had a team that might have competed but they let themselves down with their indiscipline, which in Scotland wasn't punished. Saying that one of their dirtiest squads ever managed to snag a trophy in the 70s.

Not much to disagree with there, a couple of seasons back they'd more red cards and penalties against them than in a couple of scottish league seasons. Kind of tells it's own story.
