The potential for Trump to have to declare bankruptcy must be quite high now. Yesterday’s ruling and the upcoming one for $330m where his guilt is already established and they are just deciding the amount may be close to wiping him out. I very much doubt he has the cash. He may be able to sell assets but the problem there is he inflated there value to borrow against them and there may not be as much(if any) equity in them as he thinks.

Won't he just raise it from his knuckledragging base?

That would break campaign finance laws. Not that that would worry him but I think a closer eye is being kept on him than last time.
And he is already struggling to match Biden. That’s why he is gutted Hailey is staying in the race. It’s costing him money to keep fighting.

She might spring a surprise with the nomination. She seems to be gathering support for being anti-trump and someone moderates can unite behind.

Fingers crossed there is enough of them

She has one big thing going for is that she can beat Biden. I don’t think Trump can. If Republicans want to win then she is their best bet.

Quite. And they're openly saying they won't vote for anything that might reflect well on Biden. A bipartisan bill looked like a goer the other day, then Trump got involved, and Mitch McConnell said that, unfortunately,, the politics had changed.
There's an unusually small amount of legislative business taking place because the Republicans' main goal at the moment is thwarting Biden's plans, even if they agree with them, and they have the numbers to do it.

I think you're right that that's the convention, but Biden is being challenged (very unsuccessfully) for the nomination by Dean Phillips, a woman whose name I can't remember (a self-help author, I think), and previously by Robert Kennedy who is now running as an independant. Biden won the New Hampshire primary last week with 64% of the vote, despite not even being on the ticket*, after a successful campaign to write his name on the ballot.

    * Because of a dispute about the primary calendar between the state, who have a rule that they have to be the first primary, and the Democratic party who shifted their first primary to South Carolina because it's more diverse than New Hampshire. Which is really white.

But he’s ahead in the polls! Mental. We could be in interesting times if he wins in November. Ukraine is very much in trouble at least and the Baltic states will be really nervous

Thankfully all other states bordering are in NATO and they would utterly obliterate Russia. Definitely will be a blow to Ukraine. Mood music is that Putin is holding on fighting until November when Trump comes in and he can push for a favorable deal and annexation.

Ukraine will fight on due to the money agreed by the EU last week but Europe has to step up. Only Germany Poland and the Baltics are taking it seriously in stepping up their military. The duo of Iran and Russia will push all they can.

Trump will push countries like Taiwan and the Baltics to look at getting their own nuclear arsenal if they can't depend on the US

It was a poor report and press conference for Biden on Friday, made him look more frail. I've never know anything like this the two opponents falling to the finish line, really poor stuff. Haley leads Biden by 10 in some polls but the brainwashed right would rather their fuhrer than anyone

Trump only sees things in monetary terms and even then he mostly gets it wrong. The US became a super power on the back of wars, why wouldn't he think war is good for the US?

Trump cowtows to putin at every turn.

Boris's wife was high up in The Conservative Friends of Russia Group and Boris worked for The Telegraph which was getting £250,000 a year from Russia to to promote Russian needs. Any investigation into these contacts has been blocked. When Russia first invaded Ukraine ten years ago Boris blamed it on the EU and called them Nazis.

Johnson has a stated ambition to be a "war Prime Minister."

All through this Russian ambitions have been available in their statements and writings since the 1990's, alongside their stated psychop plans to divide the USA and the EU.

What chances the war in Ukraine doesn't expand? Its all there in front of our eyes.

I thought that a year ago but he seems to be getting these trials delayed.

If he is on the ticket he beats Biden 100%.

An absolute disgrace that the best the US can come up with is Trump and Biden.

Then again, we've had Boris, Truss, Sunak and Starmer to come.

Will we ever again see an intelligent, inspiring, empathetic leader in either country?

Wow on Friday Trump said the NRA that he would mobilise 150k-200k national guards immediately to start deporting millions of immigrants. Aides say The army would have to be made up from people from red states and travel into blue states. Maybe they could use cattle trains!

"When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion, Seal the Border, and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History. Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home"

    https://archive.ph/uDjlo

    Ronald Brownstein
    @RonBrownstein
To round up migrants, Miller said, Trump would dispatch forces to “go around the country arresting illegal immigrants in large-scale raids.” Then, it would build “large-scale staging grounds near the border, most likely in TX,” to serve as internment camps for migrants

From these camps, admin would schedule constant flights returning migrants to their home countries. Miller: “You create this efficiency by having these standing facilities where planes are moving off the runway constantly, probably military aircraft, some existing DHS assets"

Jason Houser, former ICE Chief of Staff, says removing 500k to 1 million migrants a year could require as many as 100,000–150,000 deputized enforcement officers. Staffing the internment camps and constant flights that Miller is contemplating could require 50,000 more people
