Went to see Paul Di'anno, former Iron Maiden front man a few days ago at Bannermans. Deary me, it was awful. Sound was shocking, his 'banter' was embarrassing....the 2 support bands from Brazil were fun though.
Next up Stillmarillion at Voodoo Rooms tomorrow night.

I can almost hear you all roll your eyes but - Bay City Rollers in La Belle Angelle last night . Brilliant! I know it's just Woody and his gang but the place was bouncing. 90% of the audience were woman of a certain age, but we can party
Great venue, first time ive been there.

Will mean nothing to many, but Polaris supported by Paledusk, Thornhill and Silent Planet is one of the most stacked metalcore tour lineups I’ve seen in recent years!
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Subhumans at la belle Angele last night. Blistering show from anarcho punk stalwarts. What was surprising was how many kids were there, haven't seen so many teenagers at punk gigs since the mid 90s.
Was great for the atmosphere as they had the place bouncing.

Arab Strap last night. Brilliant.

Cockney Rejects at La Belle Angele on Friday, followed The View on Wednesday at my least favourite venue for a gig
''It's always been just part of the culture. Growing up, for most working-class kids, is all about football, music or clothes. You might not have much money, but whatever you have got, you're going to look good.'' - Paul Weller

I went to see Enter Shikari last night on Monday night. I hadn't seem them since 2019 and jeezo, I definitely feel all 4 years older following 75 minutes in the pit.
Saying that, they were absolutely brilliant. I haven't been a huge fan of anything post the first two albums, but I was really glad I went.
A few good ones coming up in Brisbane over the next few months:
Genesis Owusu
Foals/Declan McKenna
Mogwai
The National/Fleet Foxes
Human League
The Streets
Teenage Fanclub
The Skids

DMAs in Liverpool on Saturday coming.
Going to a jazz gig on Friday in Liverpool too. Mahuki. My wife works with the guitarist so since we are in Liverpool that day and his band are playing there, we are going along to see them. Not really my sort of music but I'm sure it will be good.

After failing to get tickets for any of the Liam Gallagher Definitely Maybe Tour gigs when they went on sale, we managed to get tickets for the show he added in Belfast next year when they went on sale last week. Going to make a weekend of it. Hoping there will be shuttle buses on as it seems to be out in a playing field in the suburbs somewhere.

I actually quite enjoyed the jazz gig. It was in a brewery. Decent beer and the music wasn't the indulgent stuff that puts me off jazz.

Or was it just the crowd that made it like that?

Got tickets today for the wife's birthday, Ugly Kid Joe but it's the support band we're really going to see, The Virginmarys (who are brilliant). March 27th at the Slay in Glasgow, new venue for me so looking forward to it.
