Plus the best way to grow the Hibernian women's team and make it sustainable is to invest in it, make it successful, market it well, and provide an enjoyable match day experience. The women's team have played in front of thousands at both Easter Road and Tynecastle, had some cracking players come through, and will surely continue to grow going forward.

I honestly enjoy going to watch the women's team more than the men's team more often than not nowadays.
Despite it being free crowds are falling. Look at the last derby at PBS and ER.

This website sponsors five women players and the Girls Academy and are incredibly proud to do so. The women’s game is growing, will continue to do so and our Daughters and Grandaughters deserve the chance to make a living from the game we all love.
They won’t be doing that in Scotland as the demand isn’t there .

Compare the attendance at the 2019 Scottish Cup final and last year's League Cup final. Hibs played in both.

The former had a crowd of around 1900, the latter around 3800. So in the space of 4 years there has been an approximate 100% increase. That's very good going in a such a short space of time. Add to that the 2022 game was also on Sky Sports.

A superb 7-0 win. Really enjoyed that.
Next round will be very difficult. Fingers crossed the Old Firm draw each other.

I’d still like to hear the answers to the questions I asked earlier but can you add - what questions did you ask to find this out to the list?

That’s true . But it was free to get in . It’s also a huge drop
Off from record crowd at ER.

I walked past meadowbank , l Think it was a Sunday, on route to ER, hibs women were playing. I counted circa 50 fans . Wouldn’t have covered the rent of meadowbank

The league cup final wasn't free.

Do you think your security can keep you in purity, you will not shake us off above or below. Scottish friction, Scottish fiction

They could do more - scheduling games that clash with the mens team doesn’t help like you say. Could maybe play at ER as a curtain raiser or something?

    Yes good dea

Meadowbank is crap stadium for watching football.

Both Hibs and Hearts women’s teams don’t have great set ups for league matches. Ideally they would play at a venue which has a better spectator experience.

100% this. (new) Meadowbank is a joke for football. Must be better options out there for us.

Depends what you are comparing the demand to. Certainly interest in women's football in terms of participation has never been higher.

An educated guess would be Glasgow City

Could the increase in the crowds be because we played the **** in the 2nd game?

If we'd played them in the pre-pandemic final the crowd would have still been lower, they never used to get a crowd going until they started winning.

They have started winning because they are throwing money at the team.

Got a friend now taking his 10 year old daughter to all the home matches, on the back of watching women's footie on the telly.
    She is loving it.
Neither had been in a football stadium before & now a very good chance of another two long term Hibees joining the club.
    GG

Poor parenting!!! Should have dragged her to Easter Road in her nappies, fed her sweets and taught her all the songs!

My daughter and her friend picked up some tickets at the Hibs Kids game on Saturday and enjoyed meeting the players who were at the table promoting this Saturdays game. They’ve been before to the Tynecastle women’s derby and sat with a Hearts supporting friend who came with us to the Hibs section.

Hadn’t given this one a lot of thought admittedly, but with international break, free tickets and a game at Easter Road it sounded a good way to spend Saturday afternoon. With the international break it may see a few more tickets shifted than normal with folk maybe at a bit of a loose end.

We've just been drawn V Partick in the cup semi with the old firm in the other one. A great chance to get to a cup final.

Tough but winnable, I think we might actually have a better away record than home against Partick recently
