Anyone else following the quite wonderful implosion on Twitter?

Lawrence Fox went on a misogynistic rant against a female commentator on Dan Wootton's show last night. It was broadcast. Fox was suspended and Wootton tweeted his condemnation of Fox. Fox subsequently shared a screenshot of a text exchange between him and Wootton showing the latter describe the incident as a 'giggle'. Wootton has now also been suspended.

It's got all the incels, racists, right wing nutters and other inadequates tearing each other apart on Twitter as they pick a side.

    Beats EastEnders any day.

Rats in a sack, hopefully they tear each other apart.

The world would be a better place without them.

Wouldn’t be surprised if GB News use this as an excuse to get rid of Wotton before the **** hits the fan over his dodgy sexual exploits

Don’t see why? It’s not like anyone is doing anything to stop them?

It's like Trevor Morgan v Nick Cotton.... and then asking people to pick a side.

I heard someone say that GB news is a news channel in the same way a green dress is a red dress. Brilliant analogy.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Laurence fox and Calvin Robinson sacked from GB News, they're taking their time over Wootton

Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson sacked by GB News | STV News

It comes after Fox was arrested with footage on social media showing police officers searching his home.
The Metropolitan Police said a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to Ulez (Ultra low emission zone) cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.

Nobody has debased the position of PM or former PM as much as him.

    And there's this:

    https://www.desmog.com/2023/10/27/ca...ience-deniers/

Michael Gove and Kemi Badenoch are due to speak at a major event next week alongside leading critics of climate action, DeSmog can report.

The three-day conference is being hosted in London by the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship, which shares its directors with the startup broadcaster GB News.

ARC was launched in March to address six “fundamental issues of our time”, including “energy and resources” and “environmental stewardship”. The group is fronted by psychologist Jordan Peterson and its advisory board includes senior politicians and academics from the UK and abroad.

If there's a buck to be turned and a bit of time in the limelight he won't be far away.

Their audiences will rise from 12 to about 17 viewers.

We can dismiss GB news at our peril. He's an idiot but he will give them more legitimacy in some nutters eyes. They are very much becoming UKs fox. It beats sky news in the ratings after 8pm, that creep Dan Wotton got 100k viewers a night and it gets 800 hits on YouTube a week. It's 4 million TV viewers a month is bellow sky's 8.5 and bcc news 10.5, but it's growing and dangerous

In the longer term, you could well be right, Post Bozo UK is drifting that way. Keep creating enough grievances, real or imagined and the audience they are after will jump on board.

Tory/UKIP/BNP voters are baffled as to how we got into this mess after voting in a right wing party, their natural instincts will be telling them that we need to go even further right. I know I've said this umpteen times, but that's the way of fascism, it's a downward spiral.

Hopefully, thankfully(?) Maybe next time around the core Nasty vote will shrink enough to leave them as an ageing and declining rabble.

If not maybe the time after that.

I don't think that's what the future holds I think it's the last hurrah for the bigots, who unfortunately all vote.

Anti immigrant feelings are falling year on year and just aren't growing in the younger generation. Most kids in Britain have multiple faith's and nationalities in there classroom.

More than that the under 40s are the first generation in over 100 years of sampling that aren't turning right wing as they age. Youth don't vote though so it'll take a few decades but the parties are going to have to go left eventually and focus on housing. Fingers crossed anyway. A great thread, these bigots are alien to younger people's thinking

The next Labour government might be able to slow down the descent, but as soon as they falter the Tories/UKIP/BND will be waiting to "save the day".

I think you underestimate the attraction of fascism. Between the wars Germany was in a similar place to the UK now.
