Cheers for posting, Montgomery will be signing a couple after that 🤣

Any idea why Ravel Morrison, Scott Allan etc never turned up?

In the post match interview with Montgomery you can see Dylan McGeouch in the background with his daughter. Good to see other former team mates travelled even if they couldn't play

Enjoyed watching that . Thanks Mick 👍.

Did Pioneers hospitality with another 5 of the family .
Brian McClair and Monty did pre match interview with Barrie . McClair came across well and was funny Monty is a gentleman. He spent a bit of time talking and getting photos with the fans . He sat at one side of our table for a photo then was getting dragged away apologising for not having time for the rest. He burst out laughing when my brother said to him it’s alright Monty I will get a photo when the next manager is hear in a fortnight.
Enjoyed the game was good to see some of the players from the 2016 squad.
Is big Conrad still in the east stand posing for photos.
After the game Sir David and Fletcher got interviewed and posed for some photos .
We got a photo with James Keatings , was surprised he could walk through the Albion Bar with very few recognising him and big Daz .
On the way out met Dylan Mcgeouch who’s other half kindly took a photo of our group and him.
While the size of the crowd was a bit of a disappointment it’s up to individuals if they could / wanted to go or not SDG is a top guy and doubt he would bothered about the size of the crowd.
Been fortunate to be in the position could afford to attend both the dinner and the match , wouldn’t have about 18 months ago or so.
All in all a great day which SDG thoroughly deserved

Nice post..sounds like a good day. I wish I could have made it, but it's a long way from rural Herefordshire to Edinburgh for a non-competitive fixture. Keatings is a weird one..really nice neat player who scored some lovely goals. Never understood why he chose to switch to Dundee Utd and stay in the Championship, when we got promoted.

It appears from comments James made that he regretted somewhat signing for the Arabs, as the daily travelling from lanarkshire didnt do his mental health any good.
His contract was expiring at ER. I dont know if he was offered a new one.
And dont forget had he connected with that cross/shot from Stokes, that led to the corner, that led to the history... he might well have got an honorary Hibernian knighthood and testimonial

Probably going for a hat-trick of Scottish Championship winners medals 😀

Forgot he played for Hamilton in 2014

I'm just watching now and Monty had the team playing some good stuff in the first half.

My 2 grandsons and I thoroughly enjoyed the game today. Must admit I didn't recognise Brian McLair AKA Santa. The only wee gripe I have was yet again the pre match music blaring as the teams came out. I and several others tried twice to get a David Gray chant going only to be drowned out by the music being played.
PS I thought Monty looked smaller in a strip that he does fully clothed, how tall is he?

Did the Man U fans take much interest in this game?

Imagine another team choosing to play against a Hibs select side and we cobbled together a team of the ilk that was pieced together for this by(for) United. It would be quite an interesting team to see put together.
    Mon the Hibs.

I can't imagine Man Utd fans would be bothered in the slightest.

They've got plenty to be bothered about closer to home.

He's actually become surprisingly articulate in his more mature years. Not that have ever had a chance to chat to him in the past, but just going on after match interviews in his Hibs and Celtic days.

I only remembered it because at the time our family yam was ranting about how angry he was at his fellow balloons not turning out for this Hearts "legend".

Also worth mentioning that Hearts made their real legendary player Willie Bauld pay for his own testimonial match ball. He and Jim Cruikshank seemingly enjoyed similar treatment, Bauld stayed away for years and Cruikshank never attended Tynecastle again.

Another world first for the big teamers?

Wasn't that his 2nd testimonial? There was even less at the other one.
