Thread: Adam Le Fondre

    Adam Le Fondre

I thought there was a thread about him but seems to have disappeared.

Been very impressed with him so far. Don't think an older forward player has made as much of an impact at Hibs since Craig Brewster. A very shrewd signing. Rarely have I seen a player at Hibs with such good awareness of what's going on around him. Quality. Top player.

I was so sure he would end up being a ***** signing. Wrote him off after a few pre-season games. But he's probably been one of, if not my favourite player so far this season. Love what he brings to the team when he's on the pitch.

Just class. Clear for all to see. He'll link up with whoever he's paired with as well. That's the beauty of it.

    Pler.

Been class. Johnson starting him on his own up top just sums up his stupidity. Made Adam look poor in pre season when he's actually quality.

Older players are always a good option now i reckon.
They’ve had to keep in the best shape throughout a modern football career so have a better chance of going longer.

Sheer quality and so much intelligence on the pitch.

    Great signing so far.

A few times yesterday, he tried to bring down a high ball and play a clever pass - it didnt always work yesterday, but his brain is so tuned in to where other players are around him its really impressive - bear in mind we are watching from the stand, whereas he is on the ground.

The wee touch for Ventes goal was fantastic - and even better was that Vente anticipated his touch, they have clearly been working together in training.

I really like this guy, and as someone mentioned above he seems really fit.

That move in the first half, where ALF skelped a shot just wide after a Vente dummy, there were about 5 forward players fighting to have a shot.

    Loving it !

He's been an excellent signing so far - well exceeded the expectations of many of us.

I hope we get Melkersen back in time to learn from him.

Can put my name against this as well.

Real intelligent player with plenty of life left in him yet. Must be a joy for others to play alongside. Great signing.

Yeah Melkersen crossed my mind too. Would surely benefit him training with Le Fondre every day.

    Underrated. Player.

He's quality. Although Doidge has been great since coming back too. Wins everything in the air. Great options to have.

He’s been excellent. A real worker but a very intelligent player who knows how to use his body against much bigger defenders. No centre half will have an easy game against him. Was gutted he didn’t get the goal his performance merited yesterday but the flick for Vente’s goal was sublime 🙌

  22. #21
    Definitely better than I expected.

His wee flicks and tricks are really good.

The pass he played through to Boyle in the first half was class too. Looks a really good all round player.

Feels like who ever is playing and coming off the bench is going to score whether it's vente,le fondre, doidge

Got at least another season in him after this one IMO.

I thought Le Fondre would be a really good signing, I didn’t think he would be as good as he has been though.

Doidge being so effective has really surprised me, I’d completely written him off.

Like a few players we've been privileged to have in the twilight of their careers I'm regularly thinking how good he must have been in his pomp. Genuinely privileged to witness some of his play

  28. #27
3 goals and 2 assists (which were both absolutely quality) is a very decent contribution so far. Especially given the number of minutes he’s actually played.

Vente will be our top scorer as, when fit, it will be him plus one. If ALF and Doidge can keep chipping in as they have so far we’ll be laughing.

I think it's a good job we've went 2 upfront, it's brought the best out of all our forward players. We are a real threat, Le Fondre's 'football IQ' is unreal, the assist yesterday, the one V Luzern, 2 great bits of skill to set Vente up. Some of his finishes are a joke too, great wee player.
