Just booked a fitting for new clubs at the Titliest fitting centre at Craigielaw. Fancy a go of the new 150 iron. I’ve had my ap2 irons for a few years now and I’m needing a bit of help the older Im getting. Not cheap but these will be my last ones. Gonna do it right. Not till the end of the month tho.
The fitter there is absolutely superb. Highly recommend.

I broke my driver the other week in the nets, never notice the mat was set up for a left hander and hit the metal post.

I replaced the shaft of my ping G410 with a stiff shaft instead of my normal regular, wow what a difference. I always had a draw that i needed to be wary of, setting the ball out right and bringing it back in.

Now i just need to aim it down the middle and there it goes. After years of not realising, i'm much better with a shaft that does not have a bit of whip.

Yeah. Graeme did my current clubs a few years ago. Actually he double checked the irons after getting fitted elsewhere and me not being certain they did a good job recommending regular shafts for the first time ever.

Random golf question...why have some pro players started wearing hoodies? They seemed wholly impractical for golf, potentially interfering with your swing or getting sopping wet if it rains. And you'd surely never actually put the hood up to play golf?

They get. Paid a **** load of money for doing so. Getting old duffers to buy sweaters and polos is easybut it’s a n ever decreasing market. There’s a whole new generation of younger players to entice to the game and the manufacturers reckon it’s the way to go for increased sales and profits.

I've got a ping hoodie, cant say it makes any difference when swinging a club, and i have had it up over my head when the wind has been strong.

Drumoig is one of the few courses I've played this year, my cousin is a member there.

Lovely course, really enjoyed it, some brilliant holes in general and some particularly good holes to drive on on the back 9.

I'm hoping to go back and play with him again with my game in slightly better working order.

After months of turgid, brutal golf I appear to finding a bit of life in my game again.

84 today, which is my best score this year after regressing like mad.

  15. #554
I'm all over the place. I can't find time to play enough and I feel like my initial improvement has stalled. I'm moving back in a few weeks so I'd like to play with better players to try and improve still.

Don't all sign up at once

Fantastic weekend, members guest at Nairn was superb and a lot of drink consumed. They really know how to put on a great event there!

As for the golf, castle Stuart visually is stunning and is definitely a great golf course, but I think Nairn is the sort of course i could play every day.

    Superb.

Well worth a trip up for it. Great feeling around the place and they really do make you feel like a member for the day.

I’m thinking of becoming a country member… maybe not the wisest choice as not sure how often I’ll get up but i was that impressed!!

Must be good. Was actually playing with a guy from the Johnston area yesterday at Cochrane castle. He was a full member at Nairn and went up one weekend a month to play. His full membership was around £500 a year less than the courses round that part of Glasgow/ west. Spent the rest of his time playing opens.

Played Dunbar today and it is in fantastic condition - as it has been all year.

It's a pity the Course Manager is heading to Gullane at the end of October as he'll be a huge miss.

Back from our long weekend in Dundee.

Ballumbie(think I said a different course previous) hhmm pretty poor tbh. Lots of changes due to them selling off some land navigating the course was tricky due to poor signage and nobody’s gps worked properly as nothing had been updated.

Drumoig. Really is a top class course in excellent condition the water holes are a challenge!

St Michaels. Brilliant value 11 quid each via Groupon some superb holes and a really friendly clubhouse.

Lucky enough to play Dundonald on Sunday there. Cracking links course and very friendly staff and welcoming clubhouse.

Definitely a course for keeping it in play - any further than the first cut and you'll be lucky to find a ball.

Booked it through the Golf in Scotland boys.

    Loved it!!!!

Played it a handful of times including late last year. Thought last year was the best condition it’s been in. Back down there next month funnily enough for the Golf in Scotland Senior finals day.

****ing shambles from the council. Nearly every club in West Lothian has it will have one shortly. They’ll be for hire to any Tim cock and Harry. Meanwhile council swimming pools close. And I’m a golfer.,
