At this time last Sunday if us Hibs fans were told that we would qualify for the play off stage in Europe on Thursday and qualify for the quarter final of the League Cup today you could have been forgiven for thinking we would be happy............................

But no, I swear to God I think there are Hibs fans that are happier when we get beat.
There are a few...maybe a handful or so of absolute turd stirrers on here. Seems like they spend their entire day on hibs.net just posting, posting, posting. Most of it negative just to fill their day to day voids. A bit like 24 hour news.

I was over in Lucerne and didn't look at this site for 4 days. Just chatted old school with people who had various opinions. Some positive. Some negative. If they get on your nerves you just head off elsewhere. But on here you can't just say I'm off for a pint. That same person follows you to the virtual bar nipping your ear and head with constant posts.

    Brutal.

Also happen to think that many of them, are not as they say with us or one of us, in my humble opinion like.

With the famous five stand shut had a seat in the west stand lower not far behind the dugout.
While the 1st half wasn't the best didn't feel like we were under any pressure from Raith and the half petered out.
Newell coming on made the difference wasn't expecting much from the midfield 1st half with a centre pairing of Campbell and Jeggo.
Matter of time before goal came and good header from Youan gave us the lead.
Thought young Megwa had a decent game and looks like he wants to play football could understand him being substituted as on a booking , no idea why Stevenson was brought on as Obita was doing the job at the back
not long after the change mistake from Stevenson and 1-1 .
Vente soon scored the winner and game over.
All in all while not the greatest performance deserved to win and dare I say it a professional performance with the aim of resting a few players and getting into the next round achieved.

Was impressed with Harbottle and dare I say it a ready made replacement for Hanlon.
Obita should start at left back on Wednesday and personally would go with a back four of Miller Harbottle Fish and Obita against Aston Villa

Highlights available from Raith Rovers TV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPy26bq4RUE

While I agree we need an upgrade on hanlon long term there's not a chance we are dropping our captain for the biggest game at ER in years

We also won't drop him for a right footed CB. We need to be finding a young LCB to bring through over the next year or so .

Mistake from Stevenson? Pretty harsh. He tried to clear it and it hit the boy breaking straight into his path. If we are to apportion blame for the goal we need look no further than Newell and Jeggo. Poor ball from Newell as Jeggo wasn’t set to receive it in the space it was put. He was then brushed too easily aside when challenged. I’m not so sure Lewis was culpable at all.

Might be considered a thread hijack, but loose connection to the game and I didn't want to start a new thread.

When my son and I got back from the game, we found that one of his 4 year old twin sons had drawn a picture when we were away. It showed me and his dad watching his twin brother scoring a goal against the Hearts! The player colours were perfect.

    Grandkids are priceless.

Stevenson deserves his share of the blame for the goal. It was a weak attempt at a clearance and also an awkward one because he wouldn’t use his right foot.

I’m happy. It think you can even push it further and say that if you told me pre season we would be in the play off stage of the conference and through the league cup however 0 points from two in the league I would take that as a decent start.

It’s not perfect and we defiantly need to pick up 3 points at home to Livi but it’s certainly not as bad as some on here would have you think.
