    Aston Villa ticket

I know it’s a big IF but IF we qualify to meet them can I be first in line for any spare tickets? PM me if you can help.
Looking for two if possible home and away welcome.
Not a season ticket holder due to work/ family but been everywhere with Hibs and I’d hate to miss this IF it happens.

If we get through we’ll need to find a couple of pubs we can commandeer for the day for those who don’t manage a ticket for the game.

The problem with birmingham is that it doesn’t really have a city centre, it has a collection of towns joined together.
When i watched scotland versus switzerland, at villa, there wasn’t a central area people could gather.
I believe Broad street has a collection of pubs.
However we arnt through yet. 😳

Hibs First membership was a no-brainer for European games if you had the intention of going to any of them. Wonder if they’ll expand it at all next season or keep it capped (think it’s 500)?

Needs to be capped to ensure all members can get a ticket regardless of who we play

Sorry to be bearer of bad news, but IF we get through, We’ll likely get 2800 tickets, and we have around 13k season ticket holders, chances of a spare are slim to null

I wonder if existing Hibs First members will get the opportunity to renew first, or it will be a free for all?

Those who applied for it this season but missed out due to numbers should be given first dibs in my opinion.

Existing members will get the chance to renew first I’d think, same as the old AST scheme. However, those who signed up to it but haven’t then utilised it may well be removed to free up space, something that was alluded to when it was launched.

Thing is, clubs sell Directly to us so how do Hibs know who is buying tickets or not? I agree though. If a member has only signed up for Hearts away for example then they absolutely should be binned off the scheme.

I have to be honest, you've pretty much got no chance of copping a spare if we get through. The annoying thing is that tickets will 100% get passed on to non members by ST holders who can't go.

Broad Street has a collection of pubs most are rarely frequented by locals so you won't have any problem being in the majority. Nicer areas to drink are Brindley place and Jewelry quarter. I'd recommend the Distillery or Henneseys if near the centre to watch the game without a ticket. There isn't much near the stadium as it just doesn't have the community who frequents pubs.

Nothing the club can do really though is there? ST holders will get first option after the Hibs First members, if some those can’t go but choose to buy a ticket for a non ST mate then that’s just the way it is, as annoying as that might be.

Assume this will be 1 ticket per ST of course…. IF we get through

Isnt that what happens on here though, season ticket holders who cant make games passing on their details or season tickets to non season ticket holders ? Or purchasing tickets for games and being unable to make the game so selling the tickets on

Set up a collection point in Birmingham, ID required to collect tickets. Sorted.

    I agree with HITSB6

Broad Street generally contains big chain types pubs, a bit soulless, but safe enough on a Thurs night. The weekend is another matter - very towny vibe.

Better pub areas are Harbourne and Moseley (my old haunt), but they are probably not worth the effort getting there, as they are out of town. Digbeth is another area worth considering.

As a side note, when I visited Brum for my job interview back in 97, I went to a pub on New Street (i.e dead Central) and Villa were playing in Europe, and nobody was watching the game.

    True fans are Blues fans.

I live in Moseley and yes for me it is the best area to drink in Birmingham with several decent places all within a minute walk of each other but as you said it's out of the city centre so wouldn't make sense. As a Villa Fan I wouldn't say true fans are blues fans 2 reasons even in good seasons they have failed to sell out a 30K ground while Villa in similar seasons have averaged over 40K. Blues do have some real hardcore fans but this generation don't go to games as much anymore.Villa fans from my experience don't drink in town so much as its pointless given the location of the stadium since Digbeth has been modified and many of the pubs remain its very ideal for blues fans being a 10-15 minute walk to the station.
