Rangers have lost two of their best players. Sam Kerr is away to Bayern. Emma Watson going down to Man U. Hibs have signed Mya Christie from Aberdeen - she's a decent young player who can play wingback or winger (18yo)

Joelle signs on again, going to be really getting preped for the main job by the sounds of it.

Although that's been a given for a while she'd one day get a crack at it.

    That’s great news.

Disappointing to see some of them leave.

I thiught we had two year deals for some there.

Would have liked to see Lockwood, Hinds, and, Thomas next season.

Plus still hope Parry will come back on loan again.

Looks like a big rebuild. At least 5 starters required.

The well known overseas players just seem to float seamlessly between leagues.
It helps them that the leagues are all played at different times.
Almost appears they are playing 12 months a year to make a living.
Lockwood, Hinds and Parry will be big misses.

    Absolutely.

We needed a new keeper anyway, I wondered if we might tempt Fife back tbh, could be wrong but she didn't play in the Scottish cup final? Wondered if she'd lost her place.

Really hoped Lockwood was here for next season. Maybe need to try and be more Scottish based in our signings. Can't build a team on one year deals.

A pity Thomas isn’t going to be here next season. She had a really promising start before her season was ended by an injury sustained in the Derby.

Fife signed a new deal with Rangers. and we can't match their money - tbh I wouldn't want to match it. She's ok but not great. The Lockwood one is odd as I was sure like you that she'd signed for longer. She was the shining star of last season. I'm wondering if they are releasing a lot of the foreign players in order to save a bit of cash? I'm assuming Hibs cover accommodation etc for them so that will all add up.

Oh yea no danger do we want to spend what they do. Wasn't aware she signed a new deal, she would have been an improvement on Haaland so I'm not gutted to see her go.

I had a look but couldn't see anything concrete from when Lockwood signed other than Gibson saying she was here for the 'foreseeable'. Given her quality I wouldn't be surprised if she has another club lined up. With a fit Boyle behind her she would have been banging them in if she'd stayed.

Bojang's flat is free right now though

Lockwood was too good for Hibs. She made a real difference especially with so many of our best players injured. She will get something better. It must be said continuing to play in front of 200 folk at a soul-less rented Sports Centre won't help us to financially retain such players.
Hines and Parry will also be losses but it's not all bad news a lot of the other hired guns weren't up to scratch so we now have a chance to sign better.
Fingers crossed Boyle makes a successful comeback.
Top priority should be the biggest and best quality goalkeeper we can afford. Would be worth a load of goals.

The SWPL is already locked in a financial natural order with the top 3 teams full time, Hibs and Hearts 4th and 5th operating a hybrid of full and part time players and the rest of the clubs training a couple of evenings a week.

That's my thoughts too. Unless people start heading to the games we won't keep good players. The venue def doesnt help in any way, but I am going to start going more.

Should make entry a fiver with a mens season ticket for one season IMO. Would make it a cheap day when at a loose end and get more engaged and into the habit of supporting the women's team which would benefit in the long term.

Problem is if you want a better venue then you're going to make it harder to get to.

Before Meadowbank there was Ainslie (where we were punted from), Livi, and Penicuik. None of them ideal really location-wise.

I don't think she was too good, she's wxactly the quality we should aim for. We've had them before and some of our players are off that quality stil.

    New keeper in

Katie Fraine, another Yank! If she's as good as Gabby then I'll be happy.

Katie Fraine has a lot of game experience so hopefully she can be a marked improvement on the goalkeeper front.
She is taller than Gabby English and our other American goalkeeper Ailey Tebbett but is smaller than her predecessor Benni Haaland

See I always thought Gabby was taller than Haaland. Gabby was a bettef keeper though

According to an online search Gabby is 5'10" and Haaland 5'11'
However, anytime I saw Haaland play she seemed to struggle to get off the ground so English was probably far more effective.
Obviously my online checks could easily be wrong .

Abbie is a great signing. Exactly what I was hoping they’d go for. Young, hungry, talented. Impressed with that move.

Seems like we defo have a new model in place (which seems similar to the one we had under Scott etc before).

I mind being very impressed with a couple Partick players at the last Meadowbank game. I'm going to assume she was onw of them!

Alessia Russo is apparently going to get 400k sign on fee from Arsenal - if it goes through. Big change in money available at top end now and lots of players running down contracts and then going for this option. Man U have also lost their right back to Barca in the same circumstances.

wonder when the Arabs will start buying trophies in the womens game

or will they wait until it's a bit bigger on the world stage then swoop in and move it all to the middle east
