What song made you put the most money in the Jukebox?

Maybe one for the older generation. Tina Turner dying has given me a flashback to the early 80's where there were still jukeboxes in most bars. After having a few I would play "Nutbush City Limits" over and over again until it really started to get on people's mammaries. The intention wasn't to get on people's nerves, I just loved the song.

Anyone else have a jukebox favourite that's not necessarily their favourite all time song?

Used to start off in the Brunswick before home games in the late 70s and Sheena Is A Punk Rocker by The Ramones would always be my first choice on the jukebox to start the day.

Hucklebuck by Coast to Coast, not my choice by the way but it always caused a bit of radgeness on the pub floor everytime it was played

Also even if I hear it now it takes me back to my drink fuelled hazy days of radgeness and of course many mates from those days who are long gone

When I was using them Dexys or Elvis Costello, never a particular number. I was working in Carlisle for a couple of days in 1980. One of my colleagues decided to put 50p in the jukebox. This gave him 20 songs. Which he preceded to pick Bridge over troubled water 20 times as he didn't fancy any of the others.
Sneaky Pete's had the best selection of songs in Edinburgh. Never needed to put money in, it was on all night.

Ironically, "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who probably hoovered up more money than any other for me over the years, as it was almost 9 minutes long, and therefore offered more bang for your buck....

Two different pubs that we frequented, but my first tunes up, respectively, always seemed to be

'Brown-Eyed Girl' by Van Morrison
and
'Love Her Madly' by The Doors

Neither of them are my favourite song by the artist and I can't even remember the last time I listened to either.

I worked in a pub in Thistle St called Marr's Bar, Archie the owner had one of the best juke box's in Edinburgh, Lido Shuffle by Boz Scaggs and Can We Still be Friends by Robert Palmer got played to death by me.

I probably put it on as well! Marrs was a regular Friday or Saturday night haunt for us for a quick pint en route to Tiffanys.

The old guys at Pockets (Chesser) must have hated me and my mate. Being young (at the time) we were the only ones that put money in the jukebox but being skint we had to choose carefully to get our monies worth.
There was a lot of Queen-Bohemian Rhapsody, Eagles-Hotel California, Lynrd Skynrd-Free Bird, Stone Roses-Fools Gold(extended).
I swear we got an hour from 6 songs.
Needless to say, we were not popular with the bar staff along with Rab & Colleen!

A bar much frequented in the 80s and beyond after the name change. Nobby Clark was one of the barman.

Nah! Nobby was in the Rollers along with Archie, they were good mates, he probably helped out now and then, I worked there for a couple of years, Archie's dad was the owner and I worked in the Beau Brummel in Hanover St, he offered me more money and the job of assistant manager to help Archie out. The place was crammed back in the day, would never be allowed to be like that now, far too many safety regulations, only reason I left was I got my own tenancy from the brewery, The Garrick Bar in Spittal St. Lost touch with Archie a few years back and found out he passed, very sad indeed.

I didn't have one specific song but I was also one of the Blue Monday fan boys.

I had a mate that used to put Sheena Easton songs on the Jukebox. We ended up referring him to a psychiatrist.

I was threatened with a ban from a pub for playing Wings of a Dove by Madness over and over again. Probably down to my singing along rather than the track itself.
