Been listening to the new Sleep Token album on repeat this morning - 'Take Me Back To Eden'.
I didn't think it could live up to the hype of the singles, but it does. Definitely an AOTY contender already.

Jazzmatazz by Guru. Probably the greatest ever hip-hop album turns 30 today….. and I feel old AF.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Had the new damned album, darkadelic, on a few times and it's really good. Much more uptempo than their last one.

Propagandhi been getting some heavy play recently as well, can't think of many bands that have put out such consistently great albums as them. Every single one of their 7 albums absolutely rocks.

Their ability to seemlessly transition from jazz elements, to RnB style flows, the genuinely heavy, metalcore/deathcore breakdowns in places is sheer genius.
The title track and Ascensionism are works of art.Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Headphones on , Combat Rock from The Clash as I down a few Ardbegs. Life really is good.
Every gimmick hungry yob,

Rancid, tomorrow never comes has had a few plays and is pretty decent. Much better than their last few outings. Also new albums by the Hard-Ons and Bollweevils which are sounding good on first listen.

Still listening to propagandhi a lot though, I doubt I'll ever tire of them.

Anthem for a new tomorrow by Screeching Weasel. It's 30 years old now but still a great album for those who like that heavily Ramones influenced snotty 90s punk rock.

My vynil copy arrived today. Its a decent enough album, but it's not great. I get the feeling right now that, especially with Lars, they are doing their best work outside Rancid and this recording is almost a chore. Fear that they might have peaked with "Out come..." and "Dominoes " . Still a great live band.

For me it will always be the first 3 rancid albums that are their best work.
I haven't heard of Lars stuff with last resort as I really don't like them so not sure about that. I was pretty impressed with Tim Armstrong's last album, a poets life.
Today has been much more of a screeching weasel day. IMG20230610120034.jpgLast edited by degenerated; 10-06-2023 at 08:02 PM.

At the moment listening to Overmono ‘Good Lies’ which is some gloriously summery electronica
Single on loop is ‘Set The Roof On Fire’ by Hudson Mohawk & Nicki Nair…..Bonkers but oh so catchy

What are you listening to?
I'm currently in the kitchen chopping some salad and listening to my wife asking me if she's ever gonna get fed today.

24 Songs by the Wedding Present. Dave Gedge and co have served up some of the best songs the band have ever done.

Sometimes You Have To Look Back by Rivalry. Melodic hardcore from Liverpool punk stalwart, Mark Magill, with his latest project.

Also currently digging Clayface album Ailments. Manchester band who have taken the vibe from 90s US skate punk and added in a touch of UK stuff like Snuff. Decent debut album from a band who have been around a while now.

Pretty gutted at home bad the new Jenny Lewis album is. It's like she's turned herself into a 20 year old pop star. Getting rave reviews as well which seems to confirm that I am getting old...😭
