Pens can be sold as "luxury" purely down to their design, despite being made from cheap materials. So by saying "luxury" rather than "expensive", it allows the media to push the idea that they are expensive, even if they're not. Same with "designer" pots.

Your probably are. Both are true £700 for pens and thousands for necklaces for work is lavish as is being able to give loans of 100k. But the second part is true also, they are in the top 1% of earners, so I'm sure they can afford without having kids

None according to the paper as no pens have been declared as gifts, not that I'm bothered about what pen she uses. They were both on over 100k before and I guess it's the tool of her trade and probably last a lifetime

Well, you for a start. I remember calling you out about it just after the referendum. You and another foreign-based poster whose username was ‘retired’ were particularly vitriolic and vociferous about those ‘stupid’ enough to vote No.

All too ready to blame the Scottish public for not accepting a flawed prospectus. If the pens were a gift they weren't declared but I doubt that, she would have bought them. Plus the paper showed the two necklaces and both were around 2k. It's not a big deal as she's wealthy and can spend her money on what she likes

So, it becomes property of the Government. It can be kept if valued at less than £140, any higher than that then she has to pay the difference out her own pocket. Of course if she is a bit short then I imagine she can ask Peter for help.....
